The Ladies International Poker Series is hosting the brand new US Ladies Poker Championship in Las Vegas this fall.

The two-day $500+$50 women's event will go off  Labor Day weekend, Sept. 4-5, 2010, inside the Golden Nugget Casino Grand Ballroom in Las Vegas.

The event will be broadcast on a live webcast.

The number of women in poker continues to grow, but still is less than five percent of the playing field in most major tournaments.

The World Series of Poker Ladies Championship is one of the only major poker championship highlighting women and the 2010 USLPC, spearheaded by LIPS founder Lupe Soto, believes it is positioned to become the premier event for women poker players.

The event will allow both online poker rooms and land-based casinos to host satellites.

The poker room would also receive a trophy and recognition should one of its satellite winners take the title.

"Currently, PokerStars and Victory Poker have committed to running online satellites," said Soto. "California casinos Bay 101, Bicycle, Phoenix, and Ocean's 11, along with Nevada casinos Golden Nugget and Peppermill, have agreed to participate. Word has spread like wildfire, and promotions haven't officially started."

The first USLPC Mega Satellite will be held on June 13 at the Golden Nugget. The $150+$25 buy-in will award one $1,500 package for every ten players entered.

The package includes the $500+$50 buy-in, three nights hotel at the Gold Nugget, $650 towards travel expenses, and entry to the prestigious 2010 Women in Poker Hall of Fame Banquet and Ceremony.
