New poker club to open in London

The exclusive, member's only Fox Poker Club is scheduled to open in the luxurious Mayfair neighborhood of central London in early 2006.

The Fox Poker Club will be the first fully licensed poker club in London once it receives its Casino License from the Gaming Board of Great Britain, and will boast one of the largest and most posh card rooms in the city. Shareholders include gaming industry professionals and poker enthusiasts Chris North (owner of Inside Gaming), Brian Mattingley (operator of Ladbrokes Casino), and Michael Caselli (editor of Bluff Magazine), among others.

The poker club will offer its members access to the "Platinum Room" which will host high stakes, no-limit cash games and be stocked with full TV studio facilities. The "Platinum Room" will also play host to the final table of all major tournaments. Members will be able to view these games live in the bar and lounge area on state of the art flat screen televisions.

Housed in a five-storey 18th Century Georgian townhouse, the club is situated next door to its sister club, the Fox Club. Both clubs are named after famed 18th Century politician Charles Fox who was a well known gambler. Mr. Fox resided in what is now the Fox Club, though it was owned by his mistress.

Interested players are encouraged to fill out a pre-registration form on the club's website as soon as possible as membership is limited.
