New players swamp Purple Lounge Poker

By Erin Warner

Daily new player sign-ups at Purple Lounge Poker have increased by more than 30% in the past week - a surge the site credits to the recent Playtech merger.

As players migrate from the Tain and Tribeca networks, the company said in a release, the poker room is enjoying brisk business.

"We're very fortunate the merger has encouraged players to try alternative poker rooms and we find once players join Purple Lounge, they very rarely find a reason to leave," said company chairman Chris Gorman.

Though the European Internet gambling market has grown very competitive of late, Gorman says Purple Lounge has the edge given its prizes, sold-out sports matches, concerts, invitation-only events, awards and parties. On top of that, the site is partnered with worldwide concierge service Quintessentially.

Since its launch in 2005, Purple Lounge Poker has built a base of more than 42,000 registered players. The key to its success is its boutique and bespoke approach to poker and casino not offered at other sites, the release stated.
