Net sign-up available for Taj Mahal tourney

Trump Taj Mahal, the first and only online seat reservation system for live tournaments, has another event on the horizon that poker players can sign up for. Registration is open for the inaugural $90k event taking place at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City Feb. 16.

At the reservation site, players can secure their seats in advance using any major credit card, rather than having to travel to the casino in advance to register or show up at the last minute and wait in line to do so.

As an added bonus, players who register for the tournament at PTSeats will be eligible for the chance to win various sponsor-added prizes. One of those prizes will be a professional poker table.

The overall winner of the tournament will also receive a seat at the World Series of Poker Academy camp taking place March 29 at Caesars Indiana. The camp normally costs $1,700 to attend.

"We want to encourage poker players to visit and see how easy it is to reserve a poker tournament seat online," said Fabricio Schaffrath, company founder. "Unregistered players at the $90k event will certainly regret missing out on the chance to win these exclusive prizes."

According to a press release from PTSeats, the Web site has received an array of positive feedback since its launch in August 2007. The site has even been referred to as the Ticketmaster of poker tournaments. The system has also helped the casinos that use the service.

" has presented a ground-breaking convenience to the world of poker tournament registration," said Tom Gitto, Trump Taj Mahal director of poker operations. "It has truly transformed the efficiency of the casino during our poker tournaments."
