Negreanu splits from Wynn

By: Lianne Elias

Poker pro and 2004 Player of the Year, Daniel Negreanu, has reportedly resigned as poker ambassador to the Wynn Las Vegas, a position he held since April 2005.

According to Negreanu, the split was a result of conflicting interests: The poker pro wanted to explore his poker playing options in big games in other casino venues across town, while Wynn Las Vegas management preferred he commit to playing exclusively at Wynn tables.

Negreanu revealed the news in an Internet poker forum recently, and insisted the split was amicable and that he fulfilled his contractual obligations to the casino giant.
