NBC Heads-Up Poker Championships: Win a free seat


Both PokerStars and Full Tilt are giving away free seats to the NBC Heads-Up Championships, where you get to play with 64 of the world's biggest poker players and movie stars.

With the field liable to feature players such as Daniel Negreanu, Greg Raymer, Barry Greenstein, Joe Hachem, Vanessa Rousso, Chris "Jesus" Ferguson, Phil Hellmuth and Peter Eastgate, winning a seat to this prestigious televised event is the opportunity of a lifetime.

Qualifying on PokerStars:

Daily free-to-enter qualifier tournaments take place Dec. 20, 2008 - Feb. 20, 2009.


Round 1

  • Round 1 Freerolls tournaments run every day, at 19:00 and 22:00 ET. Players who finish in the top 200 will advance to Round 2.
  • To register, open the PokerStars lobby; then click "Tourney" & "Regional." The tournaments will be listed as "Heads-Up Qualifying - Round 1 (U.S. players).

Round 2

  • Remaining Round 2 tournaments take place at 16:00 ET, Feb. 14 and Feb. 21. Finish in the top 56 and you'll get to play in the Grand Final!
  • Last Chance: There's an extra chance to win your seat at the Grand Final, with a one-off qualifier tournament at 20:00 ET Feb. 21. Players who finish in places 1-8 will make it through to the Grand Final.

Grand Final

  • The Grand Final takes place at 15:00 ET, Feb. 22, 2009 - with two FREE National Heads-Up Championship prize packages being awarded.

Grand Prize:

  • $20,000 buy-in to the exclusive 64-player Heads-Up Championship
  • 4 nights' accommodation in Las Vegas (March 5 - 8)
  • $1,000 cash for travel

Round 1

  • Daily Round 1 heads-up shootouts

Round 2

  • Weekly Round 2 freerolls until Feb. 21

Grand Final

  • Final championship qualifier on Feb. 22 at 4:35 p.m. ET

Grand Prize:

  • Full Tilt estimates its prize packages are worth $22,000
