NAPP Tour, Inc., a subsidiary of Hansen Gray & Company, Inc., and owner of the North American Poker Tour (NAPP) and the International Poker Association, announced last week that the inaugural tournament of the North American Poker (NAPP) Tour's 2006-2007 season will run at the legendary Hollywood Park Casino in Los Angeles, California, from May 8-19, 2006. The series will feature a number of events culminating in a No-Limit Hold'em Championship with a guaranteed prize pool of $2 million.
Over 50 of the world's top poker professionals have committed to participating in the upcoming NAPP Tour season, the format of which was developed by renowned tournament director Matt Savage.
The inaugural NAPP Tour, widely believed to be the first professional, standardized poker tour, will host a variety of tournaments during the May installment of the series, including a $300 No-Limit Texas Hold'em event; a $500 No-Limit Texas Hold'em event; a $1,000 No-Limit Texas Hold'em event; a $2,000 No-Limit Texas Hold'em event; a $5,000 Chinese Poker event; a $5,000 Mixed Event; and the $10,000 No Limit Texas Hold'em Championship.
NAPP Tour, Inc., is in the process of finalizing agreements with sponsors and a broadcast partner in order to fulfill its intention to televise each event.
