The legendary Carlos Mortensen has the lead heading into the final table of the World Poker Tour L.A. Poker Classic at Commerce Casino.

Mortensen, the first player to win both the World Series of Poker Main Event and World Poker Tour Championship, will be gunning for his unprecedented fourth WPT title when the final six plays out at Commerce Thursday.

But winning that title will be no easy feat with 2008 WPT Borgata Champ Vivek Rajkumar right behind him.

Rajkumar, who holds the record for winning the fastest final table in WPT history after taking the Borgata title in less than three hours and just 48 hands, had the chip lead with 18 remaining and held on to a stack just a few thousand chips shy of Mortensen as the final six was set Tuesday.

2009 CardPlayer Online Player of the Year Steve "gboro780" Gross and 2009 WSOP cashes leader Darryll Fish are also in the mix, making their first WPT final table appearances, as are relatively unknown pros Amir Lehavot and Gregory Brooks.

Mortensen, who has over $10 million in career live tournament earnings, made ninth at the WPT L.A. Poker Classic last season before winning his record-tying third WPT title at the Hollywood Poker Open in Lawrenceburg, Indiana less than a month later.

The World Poker Tour L.A. Poker Classic drew 681 players creating a $6,537,600 prize pool with $1,654,120 reserved for first.

The final table will be held back for a day while the WPT Celebrity Invitational final table is filmed for TV.

Here's how the stacks will look when play resumes at 4 p.m. PT Thursday.

1 Carlos Mortensen 5,235,000

2 Vivek Rajkumar 5,185,000

3 Amir Lehavot 4,115,000

4 Gregory Brooks 2,300,000

5 Darryll Fish 2,275,000

6 Steve Gross 1,320,000
