Mobay wins first Mansion Poker holiday event

By Sarah Polson

Mansion Poker has sweetened the pots of several tournaments this month for the holiday season, and Mobay was the first to get a taste of how sweet the added money is.

The tournament series kicked off Monday with a $50 + $5 buy-in tournament with $5,000 added to the prize pool. Mobay fended off a field of 219 players to walk away with more than $4,300.

Mobay earned his championship title by pulling off a straight to take down Tampataxcpa. Mobay had J-T up against Tampataxcpa's A-T. The flop brought K-6-Q, and all Mobay needed was the nine that came on the river to seal the deal.

There are still 28 more events to go in this tournament series with $245,000 in extra cash still to be added to events.

The event schedule is:

  • Monday through Friday until Dec. 29, 8 p.m. (EST), $50 + $5 buy-in, $5,000 added tournaments
  • Saturdays until Dec. 30, 8 p.m. (EST), $100 + $9 buy-in, $10,000 added tournaments
  • Sundays until Dec. 31, 8 p.m. (EST), $200 + $15 buy-in, $20,000 added tournaments
  • Jan. 1, 8 p.m. (EST), $300 + $20 buy-in, $30,000 added tournament
