Mirage Poker Showdown kicks off WPT season six
By Erik Sylven
Season five of the World Poker Tour (WPT) has just ended with Carlos Mortensen winning the championship event. Now, season six is upon us with the start of the Mirage Poker Showdown.
In total, 10 events will be played at the Mirage in Las Vegas from May 8 to May 23.
The action starts off on Tuesday with a $500+$40 No-Limit Texas Hold'em tournament, and ends with the $10,000 championship event, which starts May 19.
Last year, 384 players competed for a prize pool of $3,724,800 in the main event. Stanley Weiss walked away with the $1,320,255 first prize ahead of Harry Demetriou (pictured) and Devin Porter.
PokerListings.com will be there to bring you all the action when the WPT action begins. You will find the latest live updates, exclusive interview and blog in our Live Tournaments Section.
