How Swede it is to be picked up by Betfair Poker.

Betfair Poker has picked up another up-and-coming young poker pro with the addition of Michaela Johansson to the Betfair Poker Team.

Johansson is a 23-year-old professional poker player from Sweden. She signed a sponsorship deal with Betfair Poker that will have her representing Betfair Poker during the Main Event of the 2008 World Series of Poker.

She will also represent the poker site at the World Series of Poker Europe in September.

"We are very excited to have signed Michaela and are confident that she will be a huge success playing under our flag," said Patrik Landgren, Betfair poker manager for Sweden.

"We wish her all the best in Vegas and look forward to seeing her at our own sponsored event - the WSOP Europe in London in September."

So far Johansson's live poker resume is fairly short, but it does include some impressive cashes in tournaments.

In 2007 she placed 13th in the $1,000 AUD No-Limit Hold'em event of the Aussie Millions, won a Bellagio weekly tournament and placed second in the Swedish Poker Championships championship event, before getting her first cash in a WSOP event.

This year she started off the year by cashing in another Aussie Millions event. This time she came in 11th in the $1,500 AUD No-Limit Hold'em Bounty Event.

Her deal with Betfair Poker puts Johansson alongside some of the world's top online pros who've been making waves in the live tournament world as well.

Annette Obrestad, better known as Annette_15, was picked up by the poker site after she won the WSOPE Main Event last September. Since then Betfair Poker has also added Sorel Mizzi and John Tabatabai to its team.
