McDonald, Vogelsang Among Leaders on EPT Dublin Day 2

Croatia’s Ivan Banic snagged the overall chip lead with 381,200 on Day 2 of the EPT Dublin Main Event but pros Mike McDonald and Christoph Vogelsang are still in the thick of it.

McDonald, who claimed he had his best starting day in years at EPT Dublin, finished with 291,000 chips, which puts him firmly in the top 20.

Vogelsang wasn’t too far behind with 280,000 chips.

The 341 players who returned to the action on Day 2 were reduced to 127 by the end of play. The surviving players are chasing a first-place prize of €561,900.

Jaime "PokerStaples" Staples Soars on EPT Day 2

Prominent Twitch.tv streamer Jaime “PokerStaples” Staples is known more for his online prowess than his live play but he’s certainly making believers out of people in EPT Dublin.

Staples amassed 289,000 chips, much to the delight of his thousands of Twitch followers. The Lethbridge, Alta, native has never cashed in an EPT event but he’s certainly in a good position this time around.

Anthono Zinno, Luca Pagano, Nick Petrangelo, Dominik Panka and Pratyush Buddiga are also among the various players who survived to Day 3.

Meanwhile Andrew Lichtenberger, Jeff Madsen, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier and Martin Jacobson are amongst the numerous players who busted on Day 2.

The bubble will likely burst tomorrow as the payouts begin with 87 players remaining.
