PokerListings surprised Joe Fox with a $1,111 buy-in to the Little One for One Drop. $111 of the buy-in went directly to charity and Fox was freerolling for the rest.
Maria Ho discussed important concepts for succeeding in low buy-in, big field tournaments including patience, how to play with the most common stack-sizes and how to deal with the nerves of playing in a major event.
Joe Fox was able to ask questions and get the benefit of Maria Ho's more than ten years experience making a living playing poker.
Ho has earned over $1.5 million playing live poker tournaments and has played tons of low buy-in WSOP events.
She will also be playing and hosting the 2014 PokerListings Battle of Malta this November.
Unfortunately for Fox, despite the expert coaching he was unable to make it through Day 1 of the tournament.
Check out the highlights from the strategy session below, and keep an eye out for the full mini-documentary on Joe Fox's WSOP experience which will be posted soon.
