Mansion Poker sending players to Aussie Millions
By Sarah Polson
With the new year comes plenty of new opportunities for poker players to win millions of dollars on the tournament circuit. One of those in January will be the Aussie Millions, and Mansion Poker wants to send you there for free.
Mansion Poker is giving new and existing players the chance to join Marc Goodwin as part of the poker site's team that will be taking on the 2008 Aussie Millions running Jan. 14-20. This year the event has a guaranteed $1 million first-place prize.
"The Aussie Millions is one of the major events on the pro tour calendar," said Goodwin, Mansion Poker ambassador. "With a breathtaking location and amazing side action, it's one not to be missed. So play at Mansion Poker, and you could be on your way to Melbourne with me to enjoy the ultimate New Year's getaway."
There are two ways to win your way to the Aussie Millions at the poker site. For rookie players there is an Aussie Millions New Player Freeroll, and veterans on the site can take their shot in the Aussie Millions SuperLeague.
New players can qualify for the Aussie Millions New Player freeroll simply by doing all of the following:
- Register at Mansion Poker
- Make a deposit
- Earn Mansion Poker points between Dec. 15 and Jan. 1
The freeroll will take place Jan. 5 at 7:45 p.m. (GMT). Not only will a seat to the Aussie Millions be given away, players can also try for the $500 Bonus Bounty for knocking Goodwin out of the tournament.
Existing players at the site can win a seat to the Aussie Millions through the SuperLeague, running Dec. 20-29.
Each SuperLeague event is a $1,000 added No-Limit Hold'em Freezeout tournament with a $10+$1 buy-in, $3,000 in starting chips and 15-minute blinds.
The money will be nice, but the goal for players will be to finish in the top 50 spots of the four SuperLeague tournaments to earn leaderboard points. The top spot will get the $15,000 prize package that includes the buy-in plus money for travel and accommodation.
