Mansion Poker Grand Tournament grows

The Prize Money

By Sarah Polson

Last month's Grand Tournament at Mansion Poker was so successful that the poker site has decided to boost the guaranteed prize pool from its usual $300,000 to $500,000.

According to Mansion Poker, that now makes their Grand Tournament one of the largest online short-handed tournaments in the world.

Last month's Grand Tournament attracted a record 627 players who then battled for a $627,000 prize pool. The top prize was $156,000.

One of the benefits of the monthly Grand Tournament, besides the guaranteed prize pool, is its player-friendly format, according to Mansion Poker. The tournament has two starting days that run for a maximum of five hours.

In addition the slow blind structure, increasing every 30 minutes, and the $10,000 starting chip stacks means plenty of playing time for participants.

Surviving players from both starting days, which take place this month on Nov. 23 and Nov. 24, will then automatically earn a ticket to the Grand Tournament Final on Nov. 25 this month. Their chip stakes will carry over to the final.

The Grand Tournament has a $1,000+$40 buy-in, or Mansion Poker players can participate in qualifiers throughout the month to win their way into the tournament. For as little as $1, players can make their way through sit-and-go qualifiers and others to get into the Grand Tournament.

Mansion Poker has plenty more to offer for poker aficionados with weekly $150,000, $110,000 and $50,000 guaranteed prize pool tournaments plus frequent $20,000, $10,000 and $5,000 tournaments.
