'Lucky You' given October opening date

"Lucky You," an upcoming poker movie that tells the story of a professional poker player who finds love, wisdom, money, and family at the World Series of Poker (WSOP), has been given a release date of Oct. 27.

The movie, starring Drew Barrymore and Eric Bana, was originally slated to open Sept. 8, but Warner Bros. announced this week it was moving the movie back as well as rearranging the schedule for several other movies.

Bana will be playing Huck Cheever in the movie, a professional poker player who falls in love with Las Vegas lounge singer Billie Offer and ends up reuniting with his estranged father at the WSOP. Celebrities and poker stars such as Robert Downey Jr., Debra Messing, Doyle Brunson, Barry Greenstein, Minh Ly, Mike Matusow, Daniel Negreanu, and others will be making cameo appearances in the film.

Poker pro Jennifer Harman also tries out her acting skills as the character Shannon Kincaid in the movie.
