Location announced for Irish Poker Open
By Sarah Polson
It was announced this week that the Burlington Hotel in Dublin will play host to the 2007 Irish Poker Open taking place over Easter weekend. Poker players will have access to four-star luxury as they battle it out at the felt.
The 2007 Irish Poker Open is expected to be twice the size it was this year in terms of players and prize pool. There is a guaranteed €2 million prize pool and the tournament will have an 800-player capacity in Dublin's largest hotel.
The Burlington Hotel has played host to many international events. It has more than 500 rooms to choose from as well as offering amenities such as restaurants, a night club, laundry services, and a gym and fitness center for people staying there.
Special room rates are available for poker players who book a room and are playing in the Irish Poker Open.
The Texas Hold'em tournament has a €3,300 + €200 buy-in and last year saw pro players such as Mel Judah and Padraig Parkinson take part. Vincent Melinn came out the big winner with the €350,000 top prize.
