WSOPC Indiana - Oberlin Wins! 1 year ago

It's over here in Indiana and Samuel Oberlin is champ.

He took the lead pushing the action after flopping an ace then dusted off Jerry Martin catching queens again. The action in the final hand began with a limp from Martin on the button and Oberlin making it $40k more to play. Jerry called and the flop came Js 5h 4c.

Oberlin made it $85k, Martin pushed in and Oberlin snap called showing Qh Qs. Martin had Jh 7d and it was all over when the 8d turn and Ad river fell.

Martin grabs $79,480 for second while Oberlin gets the $143,064 first place prize plus the WSOP Main Event seat, the flashy ring and an exclusive PL.com interview.

WSOPC Indiana - Heads Up! 1 year ago

We're heads up now that David Kopacz' meltdown is complete. Facing a $46k raise from Jerry Martin he shoved from the small blind and Jerry beat him to the pot.

It was pocket queens for Martin against the unbelievable Q-6 off for Kopacz. The case queen on the flop was enough to make it look really bad for Kopacz and he's out third cashing $43,714.

Heads up Jerry Martin has over $1 million in chips to Samuel Oberlin's $230k.

WSOPC Indiana - Ashby Trayed (4th) 1 year ago

Louisville's Len Ashby is out fourth after shoving with a draw that never materialized. The action in Len's final hand started with his own raise to $34k from the small blind.

Jerry Martin flatted from the big and the Kd 7h 6s flop was revealed. Both players checked, but when the 3s turn came, Ashby bet out $40k.

Martin made it $80k and a confused Ashby couldn't contain himself.

"You got it buddy?" he asked, before shoving and putting Martin to the test.

The answer was yes, Jerry called and felted Ks Jh. Top pair was good, but Martin needed to fade Ashby's 9c 8s open ender.

The 4s river helped him do that and while Martin increased his lead, Ashby was headed to the cage to grab $31,792 in fourth place prize money.

Three handed Martin has $830k to David Kopacz' $260k and Samuel Oberlin's $210k.

WSOPC Indiana - Everybody Do The Mess Around 1 year ago

After a $28k button raise from Len Ashby, David Kopacz struck back from the big blind making it $49,000 more.

After finding out the exact amount, Ashby promptly shoved for $150,000 more. Counting out his stack to discover he would be left with just $35k should he call and lose, Kopacz eventually gave it up.

"I know you're messing around and you've got to stop," Ashby said, showing the rather messy Qc 9h.

WSOPC Indiana - Kopacz Donks Off The Lead 1 year ago

David Kopacz has given away his chip lead to Jerry Martin after some bizarre post river play.

The hand began with a $31k raise from Martin from the small blind and Kopacz protecting his big.

Both players checked it down the whole way until they were faced with a 10h 9s 7d 3s 8s board. The fireworks came next with Jerry lead out for $45k and David pretty much min-raising it up to $100k.

Martin shoved for some $150,000 more and Kopacz tanked for a minute before making a crying call. He showed Kh 6s for the sucker end of the straight and Martin had him crushed with As Ks for the nut flush.

Martin now has the lead with over $500,000 and Kopacz has only himself to blame for dipping below $200,000.

WSOPC Indiana - Couden Caught (5th) 1 year ago

Joey Couden's amazing run back into contention is now over. He limped the small blind and Len Ashby checked his option.

Joey tapped the table when the Jc 5d 5c flop fell and Ashby led out for $13k. It was push or fold time for Couden and he did the former.

Ashby insta-called with 10s 5h and Couden let an explative fly turning over As Ad. The 9s turn and 3d river were no help to Joey and he's out fifth taking $27,818.

WSOPC Indiana - Battle Of The Vertically Challenged Stacks 1 year ago

In a battle of short stacks between Len Ashby and Joey Couden, Ashby spiked an ace with A-7 to beat Couden's pocket fives and cripple the Columbus native.

With less than one big blind after the hand, Couden shoved with Kh 3s and quadded up making trip threes, then doubled that to $120k hitting two pair with 5c 3d.

Amazingly, he's right back in it.
