Day 3 Live Updates

Vesty with the All-In 2 years ago

Sylvester "Vesty" Geoghegan, who came all the way from his native Ireland to play in this event, just picked up a few much-needed chips with an all-in re-raise before the flop. It began with Dustin Fox opening to $26,000 from under the gun and Vesty moving all-in from the button.

The other two players got out of the way and it was $69,000 more back to Fox. He mulled it over for a few moments, giving Vesty a few sidelong glances, but eventually opted to release his hand and concede the pot.

Fox Doubles! 2 years ago

Local boy Dustin Fox has doubled-up and may be the new chip leader - chip counts are coming up.

Chris Ferguson limped from the big blind and Fox made it $60k to see the flop. Ferguson would have none of that, adding an another $160k to the pot - enough to cover Fox.

Fox took seemingly forever to make the call, putting his tournament on the line with 10h 10c. The call looked like genius when Ferguson flipped his As 9h for just the one over. It proved to be genius when the board of 2h 3h 2s 3c 6s kept the boxcars in the lead.

With the huge double there are now three big stacks at the table including Mark Bonsack, Ferguson and Fox. Irishman Sylvester Geoghegan could be in some trouble if he doesn't double-up soon.

Bonsai! 2 years ago

Mark "Bonsai" Bonsack has protected his blinds all tournament long and the final table, now four-handed, has been no exception.

When Dustin Fox pops it to $26k from the button pre-flop, Bonsack says let's play for $71,000, re-raising $45k on top. Fox thinks long and hard about this one, eventually folding.

"I'm giving you a lot of respect," Fox says, mucking his cards.

Testa: Roasted (Fifth) 2 years ago

Gabriel Testa came into this final table with just under $130,000 and after he spent the first level and a bit relatively inactive, his stack had slipped to just $70,000.

In what would be the last hand of his tournament it was folded around to him in the small blind and he shipped it in. It was a total of $70,000 to Dustin Fox in the big blind. After a bit of thought he made the call and tabled pocket sixes which had Testa's 2h 5h absolutely crushed. The board went Jd 9d 8h 5s 9c and just like that we are down to four. Gabriel Testa will receive $43,055 for his finish.

Banducci Busts! (Sixth) 2 years ago

After a Chris Ferguson pre-flop raise from the cut-off, Michael Banducci makes the call on the button.

The blinds fold and the flop comes down 6d 3h 9d. Jesus decides to check and Banducci makes a $24,000 raise behind him. Ferguson just calls, but bets out $55k on the Jd turn. Banducci doesn't take long to make his move, pushing in the $55k and going all-in for his last $83,500.

Ferguson tanks it for a good three or four minutes, separates out the $80k+ in chips and ponders making the call.

Eventually he does, tabling As Qd and Banducci is pleased to see his Jh 8h is ahead. Any diamond, queen or ace on the river will crush Banducci's hopes though and sure enough, the Ac comes down.

Banducci finishes sixth and will pick up $32,233. In the meantime, Ferguson adds to his massive stack which is now in the $650k range.

Testing Testa! 2 years ago

After play folds around to Chris Ferguson on the button he decides to make a reasonable $18k raise and Gabriel Testa makes the call from the big blind. The flop of 3s 7c Kc brings checks from both players, but Testa bets out $13k on the 4h turn.

Jesus studies for a moment but makes the call and the river brings the Jd. This time Testa checks and Ferguson takes his time laying out a $35k bet. Testa looks to be pondering a call, but lays the hand down, giving Jesus the decent-sized pot.
