WIth that final bustage we have our final table of nine set for tomorrow. The action is slated to get underway at 2pm - we'll be there; so should you.
"The Donkey Move Worked"
We have our final table bubble boy and it is Jeff Bryan. In a terrible beat dealt by Sam Von Duhn, Bryan is eliminated in tenth place. The hand began with a pre-flop raise to $20,000 from Jeff Banghart in middle position. Jeff called from the small blind and Sam, in the big blind, popped it to $60k. Jeff got out of the way and Bryan just smooth-called. The flop came 9♦ 3♠ 4♦ and Bryan checked.
Sam quickly announced all-in and Bryan insta-called. When they flipped their cards we saw that Bryan had been slow-playing a wired pair of kings and was way ahead of Sam's A♣ K♦. Almost before the situation was clear, the dealer dealt the turn - an ace! With that one card Von Duhn went from underdog to prohibitive favorite and Bryan was eliminated from the event. "The donkey move worked", yelled Sam as he jumped up from his seat, elated.

Flavin Consumed
Paul Kraus raises to $18,000 from middle position and the action folds around to Ray "Ribo" Flavin, who moves all-in for another $36,500. Kraus gives the matter some thought before finally matching the wager, and Flavin tells him "good call" as he turns over J♥ 6♥. Kraus has pocket eights, but after the flop comes A♠ K♣ J♠, Vitamin B2 is in the lead. The turn is the 6♠ and Flavin looks poised for a double up, but the 8♣ on the river means the end for the Vitamin Man, who heads to the rail in 11th place and will receive $10,843 for his finish.
We've now narrowed the field to one table and after redrawing for seats, are back in play. One more player needs to be eliminated before the day is done.

Having had a beverage, a cigarette, a walk, and a few moments of reflection, we're back in action. The blinds have gone up and we're going to play until one more person is eliminated before merging the tables down to one.
Break Time
We've run out of interesting things to say about break time. Suffice to say, it's not as interesting as poker time. That said, too much of a good thing is never a good thing, and it's good to temper your unbridled poker action with a cool refreshing beverage, a nice walk, a cigarette, or perhaps just a quiet moment of reflection. After fifteen minutes of the above, we'll be back.
MrRain Takes a Huge Bite of Ribo-Flavin
From under the gun, Jeff Banghart raises to $15,000. The action folds around to Ray "Ribo" Flavin in the small blind, and as he considers his move Banghart cautions him, "this could very well be your last hand, Ray." Flavin is unperturbed, and he makes the call, as does Larry Vance in the big blind.
The flop comes J♣ 9♠ 7♠ and Flavin and Vance both check to Banghart, who bets out $40,000. "Keep in mind I've never lied to you," he says, but again Flavin is willing to dance and he makes the call. Vance is a tad more bashful and he decides to play wallflower for this round.
The turn is the 9♥ and Banghart moves to throw a stack of $5,000 chips into the middle before realizing it's not his turn. He defers to Flavin, who considers as Banghart asks for a chip count (the answer: $43,000). "We're going to get all the chips in the middle one way or another," says MrRain, "whether you do it or I do it." The Vitamin Man decides to check, and sure as sugar, Banghart moves all-in.
Flavin mulls things over but eventually decides that discretion is the better part of valor and all that, and as he has been doing for most of the tournament, errs on the side of caution. He mucks despite being pretty well priced-in, and Banghart consumes much more than his daily dose of Vitamin B2 as he rakes the massive stack.

JohnnyK vs. Von Duhn
In yet another confrontation between best friends John Kincaid and Sam Von Duhn, JohnnyK has doubled-up. After a pre-flop raise from Von Duhn, Kincaid announced all-in and was called. John was in good shape with A-J leading Sam's A-3 and when the board finished out without improving Von Duhn's plight, JohnnyK doubles-up.
Back and Forth
Thadd Wolff and Jeff Bryan have had more than their fair share of confrontations since the dinner break with Wolff doubling through Bryan just a few hands ago. In this hand it would be Bryan, however, who would be raking the pot when the dust had settled. It was Sam Von Duhn who got things started with a raise to $16k from the cut-off which was called by Jeff Bryan and Thadd Wolff in the blinds.
The flop came Q♠ 9♦ 2♣ and after it was checked to Jeff he threw in a bet of $25,000. Thadd check-raised to a total of $60,000 and Sam got out of the way. With hardly anything left in his stack it was inevitable that the rest was going in and when the 4♥ hit the turn that's exactly what happened. When they flipped their cards we saw that Bryan was ahead with pocket kings against Thadd's Q♥ T♥. The A♣ landed on the river and Jeff Bryan doubles-up.

Wolff Doubles: The Sequel
Only moments after doubling up to pull himself out of shortstack status, Thadd Wolff has done it again. Getting all-in before the flop against John Kincaid, Wolff was in a dominating position with pocket aces against John's A-K. The board came and went without offering JohnnyK any help and Wolff doubles to about $140,000.
Life of Bryan: Jeff Doubles Up Wolff
Doug Carli limps in from under the gun and Jeff Bryan pops it to $17,000 from the small blind. Thadd Wolff in the big blind moves all-in for another $16,500, and after Carli gets out of the way Bryan makes the call, showing A♦ Q♠ to Wolff's 9♣ 9♠. The flop comes A♥ 9♦ 3♣, pairing Bryan's ace but giving Wolff a set. The turn complicates matters even further, bringing the A♠ to give Bryan trips but Wolff a full house. The river is the 7♣ and Bryan is unable to make a better boat, doubling up Thadd Wolff.
Carli Doubles
Doug Carli has just doubled-up through Jeff Bryan in a battle of the blinds. Bryan raised pre-flop in the small blind and got a call from Doug in the big. The flop came 5♦ 5♥ 2♣ and Jeff led out with a bet of $26k. Carli quickly moved all-in and it didn't take Bryan very long to make the call. Turning over their hands we saw Carli was way in front with #kd-5♠ for trips which was up against Q♠ 2♠ for Bryan. The board finished out 7♠ A♥ and Doug Carli doubles through.
Jewett Jewacked
James Jewett raises from under the gun preflop and Jeff Banghart puts him all-in from the big blind. Jewett makes the call with A-Q and it's Banghart's turn to show pocket kings. Once again, the kings hold up, and Jewett is headed to the rail in 12th place, the benefactor of a $10,843 payout.
Kosta's Kowboys
Jeff Banghart raises to $15,000 from early position and Kosta Sengos makes it $25,000 from the button. Action folds back to Banghart, who raises all-in, and Sengos autocalls for his last $85,000 with K♦ K♠ against Banghart's A♦ Q♠. The board comes J♠ 8♠ 7♠ 4♥ 2♥ and Kosta Sengos has doubled through Jeff Banghart. He's now up to $215,000 and his fan club is thrilled - thrilled.
Chop Chop
We were very close to our first elimination after the dinner break but it ended up being a split pot. Kosta Sengos opened making it $12k to go and when the action got to Jeff Banghart in the big blind he popped it to $32,000. Kosta took about half a second to announce all-in and after a few seconds of thought Jeff made the call. It was a coin flip with Banghart's pocket nines slightly leading Kosta's K♣ Q♣. The flop came 3♠ J♦ 3♦, the turn was the 3♣ and the river was the J♣, putting a full house on the board and making it a chop.

Johnson Seared
Jeff Banghart raises to $10,000 from early position and Sean Johnson re-raises all-in for his last $40,000. Banghart makes the call and shows A♥ 8♥ to Johnson's pocket queens. The flop comes Q♥ 9♥ 7♣, giving Johnson a set of ladies but giving Banghart the flush draw. The turn is the 2♥ and Johnson is drawing for a full house or better to stay alive, but the river is the J♠ and he heads to the rail in 13th place, the recipient of a $9,488 consolation prize.
English Broken
James English has been eliminated from this event after losing an all-in confrontation with Jeff Bryan. Bryan made it $9,000 to go pre-flop and James came over the top, moving all-in for $43,000. Jeff quickly called and turned over A♠ K♠ which was in great shape against English's A♣ 8♣. The board offered no help and English is out in 14th place.
Feud!
Harsh words have begun to permeate the air between John Kincaid and Sam Von Duhn. The tension that's been building between the two came to a head during a hand between Kincaid and James English. Having moved all-in, English was waiting for JohnnyK to make his decision when Sam quickly called the clock on him.
"Prepare to have the clock called on you every hand, every hand! We're playing for $200,000 and you call the clock on me?" John scoffed in exasperration. "Why do you think people call the call the clock on you, it's because of the kind of person you are", came back Sam. "Yeah, I'm the jerk", said Kincaid. "You said it, not me. Why do you think no one called it on me?". "Because they want your chips, because you play like a donkey!" spat JohnnyK.
John ended up folding the hand and things calmed down at the table but rest assured, we haven't seen the last of this conflict.

Ciaramella Sayonara
Danny Ciaramella moves all-in from second position for his last $17,800 and the action folds around to Kosta Sengos in the big blind. Sengos thinks for a few moments before making the call, and shows A♦ J♥ to Ciaramella's Q♥ T♣. The board comes 9♣ 3♦ 2♠ 3♣ K♥ and Ciaramella is gonzo, heading to the rail in 15th place and earning $9,488 for his efforts.

Larry Vance has just doubled through James English after getting all-in with pocket nines against English's A-8. No help came from the board and Vance doubles to about $70k.
Big Double-Up
Kosta Sengos just doubled-up and took a big bite out of Paul Kraus's stack. This hand began with Paul making a button raise to $9k after it had been folded around. Kosta, in the small blind, popped it to $29,000 total and Ray Flavin, in the big blind, got out of the way. The action was back on Kraus and he asked for a count of Sengos's stack.
Kosta had just over $20k behind and after a long time in the tank, and having the clock called on him, Paul pushed in enough chips to put Kosta all-in. Sengos quickly called and turned over pocket jacks. It was a coin flip against Paul's A♠ K♠ going to the flop. The board came 9♠ 8♣ A♥ 4♠ 3♥ and Kosta doubles-up. He's now sitting with about $100k.

Jewett Doubles
James Jewett doubled through Sean Johnson after moving all-in from the button. Sean made the call with A♥ 9♥ and saw he was in bad shape against Jewett's A♠ T♠. A ten on the flop gave Jewett even more of a lead and he doubles-up to just under $30k.
Gabrielle Capped
Brian Gabrielle gets all of his money in preflop and Ray "Ribo" Flavin makes the call, showing A♦ 4♦ to ProCapper's 9♠ 8♦. The board comes 4♠ 3♥ 2♥ A♥ 8♥ and Brian Gabrielle, the pride of Moosomin, Saskatchewan, has been eliminated in 16th place. He'll take home $8,132 for his efforts.
Wintroub Losetroubs
Jeff Banghart raises to $9,000 from the cut-off and David Wintroub moves all-in from the button for another $3,500. Before Mr. Rain can make a move, Wintroub shows K♣ Q♣, and though Banghart is priced-in, he doesn't like having to make the call. The 8♠ 2♠ he shows give him good reason not to like the call, but the board comes Q♠ J♣ 4♠ 7♠ 3♣, giving Banghart the spade flush and sending Wintroub to the rail in 17th place. He takes home $8,132 for his efforts.
Jewett Triples Up
James Jewett gets his hurting stack into the middle and gets called by Ray Flavin and Danny Ciaramella, who check the flop and the turn as they come K♥ T♥ 2♠ 4♦. When the river brings the K♣, Flavin pushes all-in for his last $12,000, and Ciaramella gives him credit for the king and gets out of the way. Instead, Flavin shows A♥ T♣ for two pair, but Jewett has K♦ 3♣ for trip kings and he has tripled up and kept hope alive.

Huge Hand for JohnnyK
John Kincaid just doubled through Sam Von Dun in a big pre-flop all-in. The hand began with a raise to $6,000 from Larry Vance in early position which was called by Von Duhn. It was folded around to JohnnyK on the button and he took a few moments to make his decision. Counting out chips, he announced raise and pushed an additional $20k in. Vance got out of the way and the action was on Sam. In the tank, Von Duhn played with his chips as he thought it through.
"All-in", he announced. Before the words had even left his mouth Johnny insta-called and turned over his hand - wired cowboys. He was in great shape against Sam's A-Qo and was looking to dodge a bullet from the board. The dealer turned over 9♥ 4♣ 6♦ 3♣ 2♠ and the kings held up. Kincaid had about $33,000 after making the $20k raise and has doubled-up to more than $120,000.

Ray "Ribo" Flavin gets the last of his chips in the middle with Kosta "Gus" Sengos, who shows Q♦ J♦ to Flavin's K♠ Q♥. The board comes A♦ K♣ 9♠ 7♠ 3♣ and Flavin has managed to stay alive yet again, nursing his short stack into the money and beyond with remarkable tenacity.
Infranca Incinerated
Matt Infranca moves all-in from early position with a hurting stack and Sam Van Duhn makes the call on the button, showing A♦ K♠ to Infranca's A♥ J♣. The board comes J♦ K♥ Q♥ 9♣ 2♣ and that's all she wrote for Infranca, who takes home $8,132 for his 18th place finish.
Wintroub Doubles Through Flavin
David Wintroub moves all-in from middle position and the action folds around to Ray "Ribo" Flavin in the big blind, who turns over A♦ T♦ and decides he has to call. Wintroub shows A♠ 2♠ and is not, as they say, in good shape. The flop comes K♣ Q♦ 9♥ and the turn is the A♣, exacerbating the situation, but the river is the 2♦ and Wintroub sticks Flavin with an $8,900 bill, crippling the already chip-poor Flavin.
The Bubble Bros.
Two players have been eliminated simultaneously in what seems to be a tie for the title of bubble boy. Matt Streeter and David Dicken were both sent packing on the same hand. Streeter moved all-in for just over $17k from the button and was called by Paul Kraus in the big blind. Streeter looked stricken as he turned over his hand, a weak K♠ 8♠ and Kraus was way ahead with K♥ Q♦. The board offered no help to the underdog Streeter and he is gone.
The second bubble boy of this event is Iowa native son David Dicken. His final hand began with a raise to $7,500 from Thad Wolff on the button. Jeff Banghart, in the small blind, made the call, and David Dicken, in the big blind, quickly pushed all-in. It was a raise of $35k more back to Thad Wolff which he called after a few moments of thought. Banghart got out of the way and the players rolled their cards. David's A-9 was in bad shape against Thad's A-Q and needed some help. The board came 4-7-4-A-8, giving both players aces and fours but leaving Wolff with the better kicker.

Hartmann McClured
Ryan Hartmann raises to $6,000 on the button and the action folds to James English in the big blind. "I know you'll outplay me on the flop," he says, "so let me look and see if I can push you all-in instead." He checks his cards and announces all-in, and Hartmann calls for his last $20,000. When English shows A♠ K♥, Hartmann is clearly upset, turning over K♠ J♠ and asking the heavens, "Why do I have to run into that?"
The heavens do not respond, and the board comes A♥ 8♥ 8♠ 3♦ T♥, sending Hartmann, who you might remember from such updates as "Bust-out at the Whiskey Roadhouse" and "Sorry, Wrong Chip Count," to the rail.

Cutler Capped
Thad Wolff raises to $5,000 from the button and Alan Cutler pushes all-in from the small blind. Wolff calls automatically and shows A-K to Cutler's A-9. The board fails to improve either hand and Alan Cutler has been eliminated within spitting distance of the bubble.
Blair Exorcised
Jeff "Will Kill You" Banghart raises to $5,000 and Deb Blair makes it $10,000 to go. Banghart thinks for a few moments before asking Blair whether he should just put her all-in now and save the trouble (she's left with about $10,000). Blair is noncommittal, so Banghart just calls and the flop comes 8-5-3. Both players check and the turn is a 6. Banghart again checks and Blair moves all-in, with Banghart beating her to the pot showing 8-8 for top set. Blair has aces, but that's not good enough anymore, and after the river card bricks out she heads to the rail in 23rd place.

Krista Gifford was shortstacked and pushed all-in from middle position. She was holding A-Jo but unfortunately ran into a monster from Matt Streeter - bullets! Fisler Fizzles
3 years ago
Ryan Fisler, Waterloo, Ontario's second most well-known rounder (behind Steve Paul-Ambrose), has been eliminated. After doubling up Ryan Hartmann before the last level break, Fisler found himself on a downward spiral that culminated in his pushing all-in with K-7 and running ito Paul Kraus' pocket aces. Fisler couldn't dig himself out of the hole and heads back to the Great White North with naught but his dignity.
Fisler's elimination has resulted in a complete and utter redraw, as there are only 27 players remaining.

Lee Borall Gone
Lee Borall has been eliminated from this event after pushing all-in for his last $14,500 from under the gun. He got a call from Jeff Banghart who was next to act and the rest of the table got out of the way. Banghart turned over pocket sevens and it was a race against Lee's A-Q. The board finished without giving Lee any help and he is outta here, his chips assimilated into the growing leviathan that is Jeff Banghart's stack.

The three men are the only competitors over $100,000 in chips and are straight ballin in the classical sense of the term.

Hartmann Doubles Through Fisler
Ryan Hartmann raises to $3,500 from the cut-off and Ryan Fisler re-ups to $8,500 from the button. The blinds get out of the way and Hartmann decides he's ready to go. He pushes the rest of his stack into the middle for an $11,200 re-re-raise, and Fisler debates with himself for a moment before making the call. Hartmann shows Q♦ Q♠ and Fisler has A♦ T♥. The flop comes J♥ 4♣ 2♥ and the flop is the K♥, giving Fisler plenty of ways to give Hartmann and extended break, but the river is the 4♦ and Hartmann has doubled through Ryan Fisler.
Albertson Eliminated
Erik R. Albertson has been eliminated from this event. The hand began with a pre-flop raise from Sean Johnson from middle position and a call from Albertson in the big blind. The flop came 9♠ 7♠ 5♦ and after an $8,000 bet from Sean, Erik pushed all-in. "Let's gamble", said Johnson as he made the call, flipping over A♠ 4♠ for the nut flush draw. Erik was ahead with 9♣ 7♣ for top two pair. The turn was the 5♥ and Erik was looking to dodge a spade or an ace on the river. The J♠ hit the board though and made Johnson's flush, eliminating Albertson from the tournament.
Ratliff Poisoned
With the board showing K♣ 9♥ 2♠, Sam Von Duhn and Kevin Ratliff decide to forego traditional betting and get the money all-in without further preamble. Von Duhn has K♦ J♥ for top pair, but Ratliff is in good shape to double, holding as he does A♠ A♣. The turn is the 4♣, but the river is the J♠ and Von Duhn explodes out of his chair like he just won the championship, when in fact all he has done is (rather ungraciously) sent an opponent packing. Ratliff takes it like a man and heads to the rail after shaking hands with his table and wishing them all good luck.
Hartmann Hutzed
Tony Hartmann raises from early position and Jeff Banghart re-raises all-in from middle position. Hartmann deliberates before making the call with his tournament life at stake. He shows Q♦ J♠ to MrRain's T♣ T♥, and the board comes 9♦ 5♥ 4♦ T♠ 5♦, filling Banghart up and spelling the end for Hartmann.
Jewett Bejewelled; Campbell Souped
James Jewett gets his last $7,300 into the middle from second position and the action folds around to Ken Felchuk in the small blind. Felchuk deliberates before finally making the call with K♠ K♣. "What took you so long?" asks Jewett, as he shows A♦ 5♦ of his own.
The flop comes A♠ 5♦ 3♣, and Felchuk laughs. "That's what took me so long," he says. The board finishes out 2♣ 8♥ and Jewett has doubled through Ken Felchuk.
Meanwhile, Warren Campbell, buffetted by a short stack for the entirety of his short second-day career, has finally been eliminated after taking a heavy blow when his pocket jacks ran into pocket queens.

Kim Cattralled
Yoon Kim limps in on the button and Thadd Wolff completes in the small blind. Doug Carli checks in the big blind and the flop comes J♠ 8♠ 6♥. Wolff and Carli check to Kim, who bets $2,500, and Wolff makes the call while Carli drops out. The turn is the 9♦ and Wolff again checks to Kim, who bets $5,600. Wolff again makes the call and the river is the 6♠. Now Wolff pushes all-in immediately, and Kim beats him to the pot with his last $5,000, showing J♦ T♣ for top pair, while Wolff has 7♠ 2♠, laying the Hammer down on Yoon Kim and making the spade flush to busticate ya boy.
Schrier Slammed
Stan Schrier has been eliminated after his pocket queens couldn't make it stick against an opponent's pocket aces. His day is done.
Roberts Robbed
Shannan Roberts and Larry Vance find themselves in the midst of an imbroglio with the board showing J♦ T♦ 4♠, and after some pushing and shoving, all the chips get in the middle with Roberts' tournament life at stake. He's got pocket jacks for top set, while Vance has A♦ K♦ and has a gutshot draw at a royal flush. Vance doesn't quite make the royal, but he does river a queen, and that's enough to give him the hand and send Roberts to the rail.
JohnnyK Doubles Through Gifford
John Kincaid raises to $3,600 from the button and Krista Gifford pushes back in the small blind, raising another $15,000. Everett Carlton gets out of the way and JohnnyK goes into the tank. "I don't know if I'm good enough to throw this away," he says, and after a few more seconds of thought, pushes all-in for a total of $28,500. Gifford calls instantly, and Kincaid shows A♣ K♠ to Gifford's A♥ Q♣. The board comes J♦ T♦ 6♥ 4♦ 5♥, and JohnnyK has doubled through Krista Gifford.
Casualty Report
On the first hand of the day, Tyler Meierotto gets all of his chips in the middle from the big blind with K-9 against his opponent's A-Q. Despite picking up a backdoor straight and flush draw on the flop, Meierotto can't make a hand to beat ace-high and he heads to the rail, the first casualty of the second day. Eliminated shortly afterwards is Bob Slezak.
