Day 3 Live Updates

Snap, Son, It's Over! 2 years ago

On the first hand since relieving his opponent of almost all of his chips, Cory Carroll raises all-in and after a few minutes to think, Justin Pechie moves his last $100,000 into the middle, showing 7h 5c to the Haligonian's Ah Jc. The flop comes Qs Td 3h and Pechie is drawing for a seven or a five to continue to championship. The turn is the 9c and the river the Qh, and Cory Carroll has won the 2007 WSOPC Caesars Palace tournament!

For his victory, Carroll takes home $506,176, as well as a shiny gold World Series Circuit ring and an entry into the 2007 WSOP Main Event. Justin Pechie receives $260,736. Both players receive the honor of knowing their exploits have been chronicled on PokerListings.com.

Congratulations to both players, and especially to the actors who so accurately and without shame portrayed Julius Caesar and Co. To the 334 other finalists and the Harrah's/WSOPC representatives, better luck next year!

At Least We Know Where The Tech Support Budget Went 2 years ago

We've just had an elaborate money presentation, featuring actors dressed as Julius Caesar, Cleopatra, and their armed guards to bring forth the $506,176 first prize and the WSOPC ring. Now that Justin Pechie and Cory Carroll, not to mention the entire audience and press contingent, are utterly mortified on the actors' behalves, we're starting heads-up play from Caesar's Palace. Stay tuned as we crown a champion of this strange and wacky event - and for pictures. Oh, the pictures...
