It took four days of poker but Athanasios Polychronopoulos finally claimed the top prize in Event 48 on Friday.

Polychronopoulos outlasted 2,713 players to win a first place prize of $650,223 and in doing so became one of the longest-named players to ever win a WSOP bracelet.

Day 4 saw just four players return to the Amazon Room including the aforementioned Polychronopoulos as well as Peter Ippolito, Simon Charette and noted pro Yevgeniy Timoshenko.

Surprisingly it was Timoshenko that bowed out first while Polychronopoulos would go on to triumph against Charette heads-up.
