$50k H.O.R.S.E. – Bach Takes the Lead
We’re getting close to 6 a.m. Las Vegas time and David Bach has just won a massive pot off John Hanson in Seven-Card Stud.
In the hand the boards looked like this:
David Bach: (X)(X)6
T
8
T
(X)
John Hanson: (X)(X)9
3
2
J
(X)
Bach had the bring-in, Hanson completed and Bach called. Both players checked on fourth street but on fifth street the fireworks started with Bach betting, Hanson raising and Bach calling.
The action got even better on sixth street as Bach bet, Hanson raised, Bach re-raised and Hanson called. Bach bet seventh street and Hanson called.
Bach showed T

K
and Hanson, obviously frustrated, threw his hand into the muck and walked away from the table for a minute. Lower set perhaps?

$50k H.O.R.S.E. – War of Attrition
We’ve played more than 14 hours of poker at the final table of the $50k H.O.R.S.E. event and the two remaining players are showing no signs of giving up any time soon.
Perhaps it’s the historic Chip Reese Trophy or the $1.2 million up for grabs but neither player wants to be the one to blink first in this epic contest of wills.
The chip lead as been traded several times but neither player seems to be able to take control of the contest.
As is usually the case with Limit games it has been a series of small victories for both players as Hanson grabbed the early chip lead in Razz but Bach dominated the Omaha-8.
In one of the biggest hands of Omaha-8 Bach raised from the button and Hanson called. The flop came K
Q

. Hanson checked, Bach bet and Hanson raised. Bach called and the turn came 6
. Hanson checked, Bach bet and Hanson called. The river came 6
and Hanson once again checked to Bach. Bach fired one more time and Hanson called.
Bach flipped over K

for a king-high flush to scoop.
One hand later in Razz Bach made the wheel to score another big pot off Hanson.
