Day 3 Live Updates

$2.5k Pot-Limit Omaha - Flowers Wilted (5th), Boatman Rocked (4th)

Dallas Flowers
Flowers frankie'd.

Dallas Flowers was bounced in fifth place to begin the past hour.

He pushed in with A Q J 9 facing a Jeff Kimber raise and Kimber called with A K Q 3.

A king on the turn left Flowers drawing only to a chop and he grabbed $49,387 in prize money when that didn't happen.

The pot actually moved Kimber into a dead heat for the lead with J.C. Tran.

Jean-Philippe Leandri was not far off the pace but Ross Boatman's ship continued to sink until he said goodbye in fourth place.

Boatman limped into Tran's big blind from the small, but check-raised all in on an 8 3 2 flop.

Tran made the easy call with Q 9 8 3 and although Boatman's A T 9 8 was behind, he picked up aces up on the A turn to take the lead.

Unfortunately for Ross, the spade gave Tran a flush draw and the 3 river completed it.

Boatman had the chip lead to start the day, but will have to settle for $66,936 and a fourth place finish as play moves three-handed with Tran in charge.

$2.5k Pot-Limit Omaha - Rami Jammed (6th)

Rami Boukai
A fight he can't win.

Former MMA fighter Rami Boukai's chance at a second WSOP bracelet in the $2,500 PLO is over.

He ended up putting all his chips in the middle in a three way pot with J.C. Tran and Jean-Phillipe Leandri.

Leandri had aces, flopped a club draw and moved in. Tran called with middle pair and Boukai's 5 6 8 4 was all but dead.

It died on the A turn and K river sending him home with $38,407 as Leandri scooped the pot to stay in contention.

With five players remaining Tran still leads, but it's a bit more tenuous now.

The players headed off on a 20-minute break as Level 22 came to a close and the price of poker went up when they returned.

$2.5k Pot-Limit Omaha - Layne Flacked (7th)

Ross Boatman
I just spent six months on a leaky boat.

We have a new chip leader here at the $2,500 PLO final table and now just six players remain.

When Ross Boatman doubled up fellow Englishman Jeffrey Kimber, J.C. Tran moved quietly into the top spot.

A few minutes later, Chad Layne allowed Tran to pad that lead getting it all in with A J 10 8 against J.C.'s K K J 5.

Layne whiffed, bowing out in seventh for $31,427 and Tran moved within a few thousand of the magic one million chip mark.

Kimber did manage to take a decent pot off Tran to move up into second spot and it appears Boatman is leaking, falling under 400k and into third spot on the current leaderboard.

$2.5k Pot-Limit Omaha - Jorgensen Jacked (8th)

Theo Jorgensen
Theo Tran'd!

The last hour at the $2,500 PLO final table has seen its fair share of action.

Theo Jorgensen, who took a PLO bracelet home to Denmark from the 2008 WSOP Europe, was not so lucky today.

He got it in with kings and rags on a flop that gave J.C. Tran a flush draw and some runner-runner straight possibilities.

Sure enough, Tran went perfect-perfect to make his straight and send Jorgensen to the cage to collect $26,955 in eighth place money.

Tran picked up a few other key pots and now sits in spitting distance of the chip leading Ross Boatman.

In the meantime, Dallas Flowers doubled through Jeff Kimber to knock him down a peg or two and stay out of the basement.

A flopped set of kings was enough to do the trick there.

Rami Boukai is the cellar dweller now and his chance at a second WSOP bracelet here in 2009 seems to be slipping away.

$2.5k Pot-Limit Omaha - Ju-Gone-Da (9th)

John Juanda
Johnny be gone.

The first few hands of the $2,500 PLO final table played out like the early rounds of a heavyweight fight with each poker pugilist taking his jabs at a pot or two.

It appeared the players were still getting a feel for each other and most had managed to avoid the big confrontations so far.

That is until John Juanda decided to make a stand.

He called a Dallas Flowers raise defending his big blind as a T 6 2 flop was revealed.

Juanda looked down at a gut shot and a flush draw and pushed, but Flowers was going nowhere holding K K 5 5.

The 6 turn and Q river could not push Juanda past Flower's kings and we were suddenly down to eight.

Juanda picked up $24,207 for his efforts and although Boatman still leads, Flowers has pulled himself out of the cellar.
