Event 9 - The Eternal Struggle
Our final four players are still going at it, trading small pots back and forth as the blinds creep inexorably upward. Right now the play is still pretty snug with most of the action taking place before the flop. Here's a bit of the action we've seen as well as updated counts.
Four More Counts!
Here's a look at the newest counts for the final four.
| Rep Porter | $1,580,000 |
| Nathan Templeton | $840,000 |
| John Conkright | $700,000 |
| Devin Porter | $585,000 |
Porter versus Porter
We just saw a clash of the Porters as Rep and Devin duked it out in an all-in pre-flop pot. It began with Rep opening to $60,000 from the button and Devin moving all-in from the big blind for $268,000. Rep made the call and turned over 9
9
which was racing Devin’s A
K
.
The flop came down J
T
8
and Devin picked up a few more outs. The Q
on the turn nailed his gut-shot and the 5
on the river made it official. Porter doubles through Porter while Porter laments Porter’s good luck.

Event 9 - Down to Four
We are down to four at this final table with the elimination of Anthony Shilyuk in fifth place. Up to this point the action had been grinding to a halt with most pots being contested pre-flop. Shilyuk was crippled in a big hand with Nathan Templeton before going busto at the hands of monster-stack Rep Porter.
Read on for details as well as updated counts.
Templeton Times Two
Nathan Templeton was just at risk of elimination but instead was able to double up and leave Anthony Shilyuk in dire straights. The hand began with Templeton opening to $40,000 from under the gun and Shilyuk defending from the big blind.
The flop came down Q
5
2
and after Shilyuk checked, Templeton fired $50,000. Shilyuk then check-raised to $160,000 and, after some thought, Templeton moved all-in for $250,000 total. Shilyuk made the call and saw his J
9
draw would need to hit to crack Templeton’s A
Q
.
The 8
turn added a few more outs to Shilyuk’s list but the 9
on the river failed to do the job. Templeton rakes the pot and earns a new lease on his tournament life.
Shilyuk Shellacked (5th)
After losing the majority of his chips in the hand detailed above Anthonly Shilyuk has been eliminated. His last hand began with Rep Porter opening from the button to $45,000 and Shilyuk moving in from the small blind for $138k.
Porter made the call and saw his 3
3
would need to hold against the all-in Shilyuk's K
8
. The board ran J
4
2
4
5
and, despite picking up a lot of outs on the turn, Shilyuk was forced to hit the old dusty trail. He's out in fifth and will receive $70,859.
