Event 7 - Keikoan Takes It!
After an hour or so of blind exchange during which Shannon Shorr treads just enough water to keep his head above sea level, the Alabaman open-shoves from the button and Matt Keikoan immediately calls, turning up K

.
The flop comes K

and the pro-Keikoan crowd goes crazy, filling the Amazon Room with their cheers as the boy flops a pair of kings. The turn is the Q
and Shorr is drawing dead, and after the K
on the river makes it official, Matt Keikoan has won the $2,000 No Limit Hold'em tournament!
For his victory, Keikoan earns $550,529 and his first WSOP bracelet, while Shannon Shorr takes $349,142 for second. Congratulations to all who cashed in this event, and stay tuned for an exclusive interview with champion Matt Keikoan!

Event 7 - Final Table - Matt Keikoan Dominates Early Going
1 year ago
Everybody had their money on Shannon Shorr to win Event 7 after he crippled Theo Tran but so far Matt Keikoan has been better player.
Keikoan entered with a slight chip lead of $3.8 million to Shorr's$2.6 million but Keikoan has already chipped Shorr down to just $1.2 million. Keikoan has done it mostly by showing aggression and forcing a great deal of laydowns from Shorr.
Stay tuned as we chronicle the epic conclusion to Event 7.
