Event 45 - Five Alive!
The remaining five players are still on their 90-minute dinner break right now. They’re due to return at 9:30 p.m local time, just about 30 minutes from now, when we’ll be looking for a number of answers.
Can Michael DeMichele can hold on to his newly-acquired chip lead against some of the stiffest competition in poker and claim his first major tournament win?
Can Erick Lindgren recover from dropping the lead just before dinner and come back to win the bracelet, as well as the lead in the Player of the Year race?
Can Scotty Nguyen continue to play some of his best poker in years and claim his first WSOP bracelet since 2001?

Event 45 - Rack 'Em, Stack 'Em, Try To Crack 'em
1 year ago
The players have been on a 20 minute break in the last hour but once they resumed play it didn't take long for the explosions to go off.
This led to one of the most famous players at the final table busting and here is exactly how that came to be.
It's All Over Baby!(Greenstein OUT - 6th)
Barry Greenstein was always going to struggle with his shortstack unless he went on an insane rush. The only insane rush he'll be going on is the rush to the rail though, as Scotty Nguyen has seen the bearded veteran off.
Greenstein bet into Scotty on every street with a pair of Aces showing in Stud-8, only for Nguyen to finally reveal pocket sevens in the holeon seventh matching one of his upcards for trips. Greenstein had Aces up, but it wasn't good enough to stop his elimination and we lose Greenstein, who is still in the running for player of the year, but is no longer in the running for the HORSE bracelet.
He received $355,000 for his 6th place finish.
DeMichele-shock For Lindgren
Erick Lindgren has relinquished the lead of the competition to Michael DeMichele, who has been lurking menacingly in 3rd position for a while, and he has now leapfrogged both E-Dog and Nguyen in the chip counts.
This hand in the limit section was a fairly big one, with DeMichele raising, Lindgren three betting and DeMichele capping.
The flop came out 9
8
6
and DeMichele bet it, Lindgren called.
The turn was the 8
, bet by DeMichele, call by Lindgren.
River: J
.
A final bet by DeMichele was not called by Lindgren, causing a big chip swing and promoting DeMichele to the chip lead for the first time.
This could prove a key moment in determining the victor of the competition.
Here are the current stacks as the race for the bracelet gets closer and closer...
| Michael DeMichele | $4,200,000 |
| Scotty Nguyen | $3,300,000 |
| Erick Lindgren | $2,300,000 |
| Matt Glantz | $1,300,000 |
| Lyle Berman | $1,250,000 |
Following this, the players have broken for a 90 minute dinner break.
Hit us back for the gripping finale to this prestigious event.
