Event 42 - Final Table - Six Men, One Bracelet
1 year ago
We have one more elimination in what has proved a fast, frentically paced final so far.
Peter Silverstein was always the most likely candidate to face the chop and this has proved to be the case.
Here are the details.
Silver Fox In A Box (OUT - 7th)
Left super short after he was unfortunate to lose with A-6 versus Fred Berger's T-J, Peter Silverstein was allin for $35,000.
Dan Lacourse isolated with a big raise to $160,000, holding A-Q and the allin Silverstein tabled 2-4.
A flop of 6
4
T
was a massive boon for Silverstein and it looked like he might survive to fight another day, but his tournament day was brought crashing to a halt as the turn and river K
and J
appeared to give Lacourse the winning nut straight.
Peter Silverstein is OUT, eliminated in 7th place, winning $64,588
As the blinds and antes increase, the older players are picking up the aggression proportionally and it is just a matter of time till we see another elimination.

Event 42 - Final Table - Down To Eight!
The final continues at a rapid rate. Given the relative large blinds to stack sizes, it is unlikely this will be a long drawn out affair. The need to make moves should ensure we have a fast paced finish and exciting climax in the race for the bracelet.
I Don't Got Wood
Charles Wood was down to his last few chips with a mere $120,000, and called them off to Dan Lacourse's re-raise.
Lacourse showed down 9
9
whilst Wood was delighted to find himself in a coin flip situation, his K
T
in nowhere near as bad shape as he might have iimagined it would be.
A flop of A
5
Q
rolled out, giving Wood a gutshot to go with his overcards. The Q
on the turn now meant an Ace was also an out, and the K
on the river sealed his victory. doubling him up as he rolled back the years, fistpumping the air like a teenager who just flipped his first successful ollie.
That pot pumped him up to $260,000.
It Goes Dark For Clark
After some consideration, Ed Clark shoved over the top of Marc Fluss' raise and was instantly called.
Clark was on a move with A
7
with Fluss' pocket nines a strong favourite. A board without aces transpired and Clark shakes hands with Fluss as he departs!
Ed Clark is OUT, eliminated in 8th place, winning $49,450 for his performance.
It's back to watching re-runs of The Golden Girls for Ed.
