Day 3 Live Updates

Event 32 - Final Table - Down to Three 1 year ago

The flurry of activity we saw two levels ago has abated as the final three players realize they’re within sight of the bracelet and the big first place cash. There hasn’t been a whole lot of action to speak of but big-stack Luis Velador has lost a little ground to his two shorter-stacked opponents.

The players were on break for almost half of the last hour so for now check out the one hand of note we saw.

Signor with the All-In

Anthony Signore has taken a little back from monster-stack Luis Velador with this all-in move. It started as a three-way limped pot with Signore on the button. The flop came down Jh Th 9s and Osmin Dardon and Velador checked in the blinds.

Signore led out for $150,000 and only Velador called. The turn was the 2d and after another check from Luis, Signore announced all-in and Velador went way into the tank to try to sort things out. It was obvious he wanted to make the call but it seemed the price was just too high.

After a bit more thought, and a lot more head-shaking, Velador mucked Kh 8h face-up. No rabbit hunts available.

Event 32 - Final Table - First Place or Bust! 1 year ago

This last level has seen a flurry of eliminations, leaving the number of survivors at just three. Luis Velador is still in a commanding position but, as we all know, anything can happen now. Read on for a trio of eliminations and a look at the new counts.

Three on the Tree

Here they are, courtesy of www.worldseriesofpoker.com.

Luis Velador $4,694,000
Osmin Dardon
$1,200,000
Anthony Signore
$865,000

Jae Rocked (4th)

Jae Chung has been eliminated, sent packing by the tag-team effort of Osmin Dardon and Luis Velador. Dordon got the action started with a raise to $75,000 which was called by Velador. Chung then shipped all-in for $280,000 and both other players called.

They checked down the board of Kc Jc 2d Js 4h and, surprisingly, they both turned over K-T for the chop. They each profit almost $150,000 while Chung is out in fourth place, pocketing $204,422.

Shane Shot Down (5th)

Shane Stacey has become our most recent casualty, getting extremely unlucky to go out in fifth for $166,682. The hand began with Stacey opening from the small blind to $80,000 and Osmin Dardon defended from the big blind.

The flop came down Qs 9d 8s and Stacey led out for $125,000. Osmin moved all-in and Stacey made a quick call.

Stacey: Ah Qh

Osmin: Td Th

The double looked like a lock for Stacey until the board finished out 6d 7h. Osmin had somehow pulled out the backdoor straight which was enough to earn him the check mark and send a bewildered Shane Stacey on his way.

Mean Dean.

Bui Knifed (6th)

Dean Bui’s tournament just came to a disastrous end in a sick set-up hand with chip leader Luis Velador. It started with Bui limping in the small blind and Velador popping it from the big. Bui made the call and the flop came down Kh Td 7c and Bui checked.

Velador fired $90,000 and Bui flat-called. The turn was the 4h and both players checked. The river was the 9h and Bui cut out a stack of chips, pushing $255,000 into the middle. Velador paused for just a beat before moving all-in. Bui snap-called.

When the cards were on their backs we saw Bui never stood a chance. Pocket tens for the all-in Bui were crushed by the pocket kings of Velador. With that set over set debacle Bui is out for $132,088 and Velador has even more chips.
