Event 32 - Jose Luis Velador WINS! 1 year ago

Yes we have our winner, Jose Luis Velador the man who picks up the much coveted world series of poker bracelet!

He has held a big stack throughout the latter stages of the tournament, never really relinquishing it and finally he holds ALL the chips.

Here's how it happened.

Luis-y Peasy!

Jose Luis Velador has been putting the pressure on Anthony G Signore, and when Signore found A-6 he was happy to play back, getting all his chips into the middle.

Signore however was going nowhere and flipped over the slightly better Ac 7c !

With two low kickers, a split was a distinct possibility, but that possibility evaporated as the dealer dealt out an Ace and a Seven on the flop to give Velador a dominant two pair.

A blank on the turn left Signore drawing dead, and although he hit a 6 on the river to make aces up himself, it was too little, too late, meaning Anthony G Signore is OUT, eliminated in 2nd, winning $366,387.

And Juis Luis Velador is the champion of this $1,500 NLHE WSOP event, picking up an impressive $573,374 for his troubles, along with the shiny gold WSOP bracelet, and the plaudits of the watching rail.

Join us shortly for pictures of the newly crowned champion and a full interview .

Event 32 - Final Table - Heads-Up Begins! 1 year ago

We are down to two in this event with the elimination of Osmin Dardon in third place. The bracelet and a whole lot of cash is on the line so stay with us to see how it all shakes out

Signore Doubles

Anthony Signore has doubled up. The hand began with Luis Velador limping his button and Signore popping it to $140,000 from the big blind. Velador then re-raised to $590,000 and Signore moved all-in.

The call was made and we saw it was a race between Velador's pocket sevens and Signore's Ad 9h. The flop was no help, coming three kings, but the ace on the turn did the trick. The river's a brick and Signore doubles.

Osmin Annihilated (3rd)

We are down to two in this event with the elimination of Osmin Dardon in third position. His final hand started with a raise from Luis Velador on the button and a re-raise from Dardon in the small blind. Anthony Signore folded his big blind and Velador moved all-in.

Dardon made the call and when the cards were rolled we saw it was a race between Dardon’s As Kd and Velador’s Qh Qc. The flop came Jh 7h 2h and things go from bad to worse for Dardon since he can no longer hit a heart.

The turn is the Td, which gives Dardon the inside straight draw, but the river is the 9h, completing Velador’s flush and eliminating Osmin Dardon for $243,734.

Another All-In from Signore

Anthony Signore is showing more signs of life at this final table and seems intent on picking up chips and making a run at the big stack of Luis Velador. Earlier this level we saw Osmin Dardon open to $95,000 from the button only to be re-popped to $245,000 by Signore.

Dardon made the call and the flop came down 8d 6d 2d. Signore quickly moved all-in for $680,000, putting Dardon to a decision for a huge chunk of his stack. After a long time in the tank Dardon opted to muck his hand and wait for a better spot.
