Several hands after the unlikely suck-out with 4-3, Dario Minieri has written himself into the WSOP history books by beating Seth Fischer in heads-up play.
In the final hand of the tournament Dario Minieri bet $125,000 and Fischer moved all-in. Minieri flipped over Q

After getting so close to winning a major poker tournament in his native Italy at EPT San Remo, Minieri has done his countryman proud by winning Event 31. He will receive $528,418 for coming in first while Seth Fischer will receive $330,519 for coming in second.

Dario Minieri’s omni-present aggression just about cost him dearly but instead has put him in the spot to win this tournament.

The large Italian cheering squad went crazy and suddenly Minieri had re-taken the chip lead with approximately $3 million chips.
Minieri is within striking distance of his first WSOP bracelet.
