Event 31 - Final Table - Italy Strikes Again! Minieri Wins 1 year ago

Several hands after the unlikely suck-out with 4-3, Dario Minieri has written himself into the WSOP history books by beating Seth Fischer in heads-up play.

In the final hand of the tournament Dario Minieri bet $125,000 and Fischer moved all-in. Minieri flipped over Qd Qh while Fischer would need some help with Kd Td.

The board ran out Ad Ah 5c 2c 3d and gave the definitive checkmark to the Pint-Sized Poker Pugilist.

After getting so close to winning a major poker tournament in his native Italy at EPT San Remo, Minieri has done his countryman proud by winning Event 31. He will receive $528,418 for coming in first while Seth Fischer will receive $330,519 for coming in second.

Congratulations to everyone that played in Event 31!

Event 31 – Final Table – Super Dario with the Super Suck-out 1 year ago

Dario Minieri’s omni-present aggression just about cost him dearly but instead has put him in the spot to win this tournament.

In the pivotal hand Fischer bet $180,000 and Minieri moved all-in but Fischer immediately called. Fischer flipped over a powerful Ks Kd while Minieri flipped over a slightly underwhelming 4s 3s.

Minieri would need a miracle from the board if he wanted to avoid busting.

As it turned out that’s just what he got as the board came Js 8s 2d 4d...4h!

The large Italian cheering squad went crazy and suddenly Minieri had re-taken the chip lead with approximately $3 million chips.

Minieri is within striking distance of his first WSOP bracelet.
