Event 30 - Hollink is Champion!
This tournament is over and the 30th bracelet of the 2008 WSOP has found a home on the wrist of Dutch pro Rob Hollink. For those of you who don't remember Hollink took down the EPT Grand Final in it's first incarnation back on Season 1.
Rob Hollink takes $496,931 and Jerrod Ankenman takes $307,380 for runner-up. PL.com is on the floor as we speak snapping winner photos and speaking with Hollink himself so make sure to check back for those in a bit.
For now tide yourself over with the details of the final hand.
Jerrod Subway'd (Second)
Jerrod Ankenman, yin to Bill Chen's mathematically nerdy yang, just hit the rail in second place after getting short and being forced to make a stand. Hollink opened for a raise and Ankenman called all-in for the last of his chips.
Hollink: A
5
Ankenman: T
7
The flop hit Hollink like a subway train, coming A
5
4
and putting Hollink in a commanding spot. The turn and river brought nothing but bricks, 3
Q
, and Ankenman is out in second position.

Event 30 – Final Table – Can’t Hang On, Tommy Eliminated (Third)
Rob Hollink continues to dismantle this final table and Tommy Hang is the latest player to become a casualty of the Dutchman.
In his final hand Hang bet from the button and Hollink re-raised for the last of Hang’s chip. Hang called all-in and tabled 9
8
but would need some help against Hollink’s K
Q
.
The flop came 8
7
3
which paired Hang’s eight but the turn came Q
which gave the lead back to Hollink. The river was a meaningless J
and Hollink raked the pot. Hang is eliminated third and will receive $194,674 for hanging around as long as he did.
We are now heads-up between Hollink and Jerrod Ankenman with the Dutch pro holding a 3-1 chip lead.
