Event 23 - Sibling Rivalry: Hinkle Wins!
Young online pro Blair Hinkle has just made poker history by capturing his first WSOP bracelet in Event 23, the $2,000 No Limit Hold'em tournament, just a few weeks after older brother Grant Hinkle won his own in the first $1,500 NLHE donkament of the season.
Here's how the final table played out its epic conclusion:
Steicke Stuck (4th)!
Blair Hinkle raises to $100,000 from under the gun and is joined in the pot by his three opponents, including David Steicke in the big blind. The flop comes Q
8
6
and Steicke open-shoves all-in after the action folds to him. Hinkle moves all-in over the top and successfully isolates his opponent.
As the players show down their hands, Steicke has T
2
for the club flush draw while Hinkle has 8
6
for two pair. The board finishes out 5
T
and Hinkle avoids the flush to eliminate Steicke in fourth place for a $166,333 payout.
O'Brien O'Busto (3th)!
Hinkle raises to $130,000 and Daniel O'Brien re-raises all-in for his last $1.2 million in the small blind. Hinkle makes the call and shows a pocket pair of sixes to O'Brien's pocket eights. O'Brien looks primed to double, but the flop comes A
6
5
to send a roar through the pro-Hinkle crowd. The board finishes out 5
K
and Hinkle wins the pot with a full house to send O'Brien packing in third place. The boy will take $198,132 for his time.
Hinkle Takes It Home!
Blair Hinkle enters heads-up play with Mark Brockington with a massive lead and it doesn't take long for all of Brockington's chips in the middle. Young "blur5f6"(that's Hinkle) raises on the button to $155,000 and Brockington raises to $510,000. Hinkle moves all-in over the top and Brockington makes the call, showing A
K
while Hinkle again rolls up a pocket pair of sixes.
The crowd is on its feet screaming for a six and as though motivated by the collective will of the mob, the flop comes A
6
2
to give Hinkle the Cloven-Hoofed Set once again. The turn is the 8
and Brockington is drawing dead; Blair Hinkle has won his first WSOP bracelet!
For the win, Hinkle earns $507,563, the bracelet and the exclusive PokerListings.com interview . Meanwhile, Brockington takes home $326,552 and no PokerListings interview.
Stay tuned for our recap blog and a conversation with the winner!

Event 23 - Time
Not much has changed in the past hour of this final table. Blair Hinkle retains his lead but is being threatened by Hong Kong's David Steicke once again. Canadian Mark Brockington seems to double every time he gets short stacked and Las Vegas local Daniel O'Brien is still in good shape.
Steicke Strikes Back
David Steicke has fought back to take a stranglehold on second position. The key hand was a face off between he and Daniel O'Brien that started with a $120,000 bet from Steicke from the button.
Blair Hinkle passed in the small blind but O'Brien made the call from the big. The two went heads up to the Q
J
7
flop and O'Brien fired out right away making it $160k.
Steicke thought for a moment before deciding to make a huge move. He pushed all in and pushed O'Brien off his hand collecting the $400k pot.
Brockington Comes Back
A shortstacked Mark Brockington got it all in again - this time holding A
6
to David Steick's K
J
. The Q
10
8
flop gave Steicke the open ender, but the 5
turn and 8
river wasn't enough to complete it.
Brockington's double puts him back up to over $500k.
