Day 2 Live Updates
Event 17 - Level 4 - Eruption!
The sedate pace witnessed earlier in the day has been shattered by a series of giant pots, culminating in multiple eliminations! The rail, so serene earlier, are packed round watching the frenetic actio!
There's blood on the carpet folks and here's how it has all panned out!
West Put To Rest (OUT - 8th)
Thomas West has seen his stack whittled down in recent times, so when he saw a big ace in A-Q, he went for it. Unluckily for him Jason Young found an ace that was just a smidgen, but a crucial smidgen better in A-K.
The board was a series of inconsequential low cards, Young's A-K high holding, meaning Thomas West is OUT, eliminated in 8th spot for $12,421.
Cold War Over (Rybachenko OUT - 7th, Bowker OUT 6th)
This may come as surprising news, given the Russian had been the dominating chip stack, but Sergey Rybachenko is indeed out.
Here's the story of his demise.
First off he lost a big pot, trying to bluff Jason Young off A-Q on an A high board, mucking as soon as Jason called his river bluff.
Soon after he was involved in a pot that was re-raised preflop, seeing the flop with J
Q
and calling Rory Monahan's shove on a Jack high board, only to find him with pocket rockets.
His exit was more unfortunate than these two rather loose hands however, shipping his chips in in good shape with pocket cowboys, versus the Q
9
of the shortstacked Kyle Bowker and the A
Q
in the hands of the more chipped up Schwartz.
He held dominion until a grim spiked river Ace plunged the dagger of defeat deep within the depths of his soul, meaning Mike Shwartz knocked out two players in one fell swoop!
Sergey Rybachenko is OUT, eliiminated in 7th spot for $15,697 and Kyle Bowker is OUT, eliminated in 6th spot for $23,888
Matt Finish (Giannetti OUT - 5th)
Matthew Gianneti is the latest player to fall victim in the slew of eliminations this level has witnessed.
He had been on a mission to build his stack up and saw a flop of A
K
9
against Mike Schwartz. He called after a quick interrogation of Schwartz with A
T
and was shown the draw-tastic Q
9
.
Shwartz missed his flush but a Queen on the turn and nine on the river were good enough, his full house meaning Matthew Gianetti is OUT, eliminated in 5th spot fr $40,267.
Four handed now, the race for the bracelet gets ever closer!

Event 17 - Level 2 - Another Player Down!
A slow methodical start by most of the players has meant there is a silent, anti-climactic ambience permeating this final table.
The reflective mood of the players and the small contingent watching is sure to be washed away as the increasing tides of blinds co-erce the players to play more aggressively as the pressure rises...
From Russia With Love
Alexander Triner was down to roughly $600,000 when he tangled with perhaps the most aggressive player at the table today, Russian Rybachenko.
They saw an Ace high flop and the chips flew in, Rybchencko no doubt feeling like his A-T was good. When the smoke cleared though, Triner tabled A-Q, his kicker playing as he doubled through to $1,200,000 in chips.
Jumping Jason's Jack
Heartily encouraged by that double up, Triner found it in him to repop Jason Young's raise to $60,000 to $225,000.
Jason now decided the time was right to move allin!
A HUGE pot was in the offing and when Triner called they flipped them. Brave call by Triner with A-K and he was in excellent shape to knock Young out at this point, as he tabled the dominated A-J.
The board came BLANK,BLANK,BLANK, JACK!
Unbelievably, an ecstatic Young had spiked his 3 outer to remain in the frame. He faded a King on the river and took down the million and a half pot, with a stunned Triner finding himself crippled by this piece of outrageous misfortune!
No Dinner For Triner (OUT - 9th)
ALexander Triner was still stunned by this last hand when he picked up pocket Jacks. No doubt overjoyed to have been given a great shot to get back in it again, he shoved his chips in with the fourth best hand in poker, only to be dealt yet one more piece of misfortune as John Strzemp III found the third best hand in poker, in pocket ladies, to send him watery-eyed and in a daze, crashing to the rail in harsh fashion.
Alexander Triner is OUT, eliminated in 9th spot, for $9,828
