Event 16: Forrest Chopped As Brown Wins!
Andrew Brown overcame a big chip deficit and manage to defeat five-time bracelet winner Ted Forrest to capture his first bracelet himself at his very first WSOP.
In a topsy-turvy match, Brown managed to take control and put Ted Forrest all-in a couple of times before Forrest made a comeback and briefly recaptured the lead.
Brown, though, redoubled his efforts, and his aggressive style led to a couple of scoops that earned him the first place.
Pechac Dismissed!
Jim Pechac goes out in third when his Q
Q
8
5
is up against Brown's J
3
6
4
. A board of K
4
5
6
J
leaves neither player with a low, but Brown's jacks and sixes are good for the high, and thus, the total pot.
Quad Me Baby!
The two players see a K
9
9
flop heads-up; Brown bets, with Forrest calling. The same pattern occurs on the 6
and 9#s river. Brown shows K
9
5
4
for quads. With this pot Brown drew virtually level in the chip stakes.
Forrest Reduced to a Thicket
Ted Forrest called a button raise and then led out on the J
8
3
; Brown called, then bet the 5
turn when Forrest checked. The latter opted for a call before check/raising the 2
river and being called. Forrest proudly showed his A
4
3
T
for the wheel, but then Brown declared, "I have three quarters."
Forrest looked shocked: "You have three quarters???"
Brown showed A
2
4
6
for the wheel also, but with a six-high straight. The five-time bracelet winner was reduced to less than half a million.
Forrest Gumped!
Forrest and Brown see a 9
J
A
flop; Forrest bets and Brown calls. On the 8
, the same action is repeated. The river is the 2
. Forrest moves in his last $85,000 and Brown calls again.

Brown's jacks and deuces are good for the high, while his A-2-4-5-8 also takes the high and the title!!

Event 16 - Three-Handed!
We're down to three players in the $2,000 Omaha Hi-Lo Split 8-Or-Better and here's how it all played out:
Hooshmand Zada'd (5th)!
Ted Forrest raises and Kia Hooshmand moves all-in for his last $45,000. Forrest makes the call and shows A
T
7
2
to his adversary's A
9
8
2
. The board comes A
J
4
4
T
and Forrest takes the pot to send Hooshmand to the rail in fifth place for $58,877.
Shamseddin Crippled!
Forrest limps-in from under the gun and Jim Pechac and Soheil Shamseddin join the party in the blinds. The flop comes 9
6
5
and Pechac checks to Shamseddin, who bets out. Forrest lays it down and Pechac stays around for the turn, which is the K
. Pechac bets out and Shamseddin flat-calls. The river is the 6
and both players check.
Pechac shows A
K
T
4
for the ace-high flush while Shamseddin has 7
5
4
2
and could not make a low. He's crippled on the play.
Shamseddin Busto (4th)!
Shamseddin raises preflop and is called by Andrew Brown and Pechac. The flop comes K
5
5
and the action checks to Shamseddin, who bets his last $5,000. Brown and Pechac both call and the turn is the 2
, prompting a bet from Brown and a fold from Pechac.
Brown turns up 9
6
2
2
for the boat while Shamseddin has A
Q
8
6
and is drawing to the low for the split. The river is the J
, however, and Shamseddin is thus eliminated in fourth place. He'll take home $71,691 for his time.

Two more players have busted in the $2,000 Omaha Hi/Lo event, leaving us with just five left. Ted Forrest is in dominating position now, whilst it looks as though the other players are going to be vying for second place at the moment.

Clements with an almost non scary stare...
Scott Pleads For Clemency
Scott Clements raises preflop, Ted Forrest re-raises whilst Brown calls. The two-time bracelet winner puts the last of his chips in the middle with the other two calling. The board comes out 4-5-J-Q-5, and Clements mucks while Brown wins the hand showing A-K-Q-5 for fives full of queens. Scott Clements goes out in 7th place.
Sauce Battle: Perry Perry Defeated By Brown
Ralph Perry moved his last few chips in and was called by Andrew Brown, Soheil Shamseddin and Ted Forrest. Brown fired every step of the way of the 7

Just seven players remain in the Omaha Hi/Lo split event with Ted Forrest leading the way. Will this be the year when he picks up his next bracelet or can one of the other players like Scott Clements thwart his challenge?

Forrest Doesn't Chop
Ted Forrest moves up to around $700,000 in chips after he took a pot from the other big stack, Andrew Brown. The board was showing K

Event 16 - After Eight
We're now down to just eight players in the hunt for the Omaha eight or better bracelet. Andrew Brown has a stranglehold on the chip lead and has no plans on giving it up. In the meanitme we've said goodbye to Gobboby.
Grove Coconutted (10th)
Lee Grove goes out tenth with Andrew Brown and Jim Pechac splitting up the chips left in his short stack by making the lo and hi hands. Grove did not find the final board to his liking but the $13,587 for 10th should soften the blow.
Grove's elimination paves the way for the official final table of nine to begin!
Fricke Fracked (9th)
Jimmy Fricke is our 9th place finisher and will cash $21,135 after being put all in pre flop by Andrew Brown.
Brown's 9
6
4
3
was a nice looked double suited low hand while Fricke's A
K
Q
6
was in the pre flop lead for the high. The J

Michael Sohayegh lost the last of his chips in a four way limped pot. After the 10
4
3
flop Andrew Brown bet, Jim Pechac and Sohayegh made his final call.
The action is checked down the rest of the way as the K

In the end, Pechac's A

J

is good for the wheel and Sohayegh is sent to the cage to collect $8,554.
Richburg Poor (15th)
Ted Forrest made quick work of James Richburg making a wheel to scoop up all his chips.

Aronesty Nested (14th)
Joe Aronesty shoved facing a Q

but none of them came to fruition. He leaves with $11,071 for 14th.
Paz Dispensed (13th)
Joe Paz became or 13th place finisher when he raised a Ted Forrest limp. Forrest called and the K

Smith Smacked (12th)
Mallory Smith will cash $13,587 for 12th after shoving behind a Ralph Rudd limp.
Andrew Brown, Kia Hooshmand called before Rudd came over the top. Both players with action made the call and we were treated to the Q

8
flop.
All three checked before the 7
turn came and Brown bet, Hooshmand let it go but Rudd made the call. The river was the 7
