Day 3 Live Updates

Bac That Thang Up!

Dao Bac
Honestly, who throws a SHOE?

The S.H.O.E. event is over and Dao Bac is winnar!

Bac augmented his lead over the course of the Stud stage, nearly crippling Adam Geyer but letting his rival back into the match just before the game switched to Hold'em.

Bac would press his advantage in the Hold'em stage, finally taking all but a few of Geyer's chips and then striking the decisive blow on a hand that began after Geyer raised out of the big blind and Bac called. The flop came T 7 5 and Geyer bet out. Bac raised and Geyer called, and the turn was the 3.

Again Geyer bet out and again Bac raised, this time to $120,000, which was just a little less than what remained in Geyer's stack. After tanking for a few minutes, Beyer moved all-in and Bac quickly called, showing 7 4 for middle pair to Geyer's A 7 for middle pair with a better kicker.

The river was poison to Geyer, however, bringing the 4 and giving Bac game, set, and match. He wins his first WSOP bracelet as well as $157,975 and an exclusive PokerListings.com interview. For second place, Adam Geyer earns $88,691, which is barely enough to pay PokerListings.com monthly airplane note but is deserving of congratulations nonetheless.

Congratulations to both finalists!

Chip Jett
Chip: Blocked

While playing Stud 8, Chip Jett gets all-in on fourth street showing 3 Q and is called by Adam Geyer, who is showing A 8 and turns up T 6 in the hole to Jett's A Q. Sixth Street pairs Geyer's ace and he turns up another ten on Seventh Street, and Father of the Gods cannot recover, bricking out in the face of Geyer's aces-up to hit the rail in third place. Mr. Karina Jett receives $55,801 for his time.

We're now preparing for heads-up play between Adam Geyer ($850,000) and Dao Bac ($625,000).

Ray-Ray Broke Down

Raymond Davis
"See ya, wouldn't want to be ya!"
Back in Hold'em, Raymond Davis raises to $30,000 from under the gun and is called by both Chip Jett and Dao Bac out of the blinds. The flop comes J 8 7 and the action checks around to Davis, who moves all-in for his last $7,000 and is called by both Jett and Bac. Jett and Bac check down the board, which finishes out 4 6. Father of the Gods and the Classlessiest Man in Poker both have Big Slick, but Bac turns up 9 5 for the straight and takes down the pot, sending Davis to the rail in fourth place for $34,012 - barely enough to cover his hat collection.

Shchemelev! My Name 'Eliminated'!

Vladimir Shchemelev
Vladimir: Vanquished
In the Stud scenario, Vladimir Shchemelev got all-in and was called by Chip Jett and Dao Bac. When the dust had settled, Shchemelev showed queens-up for two pair, which was good to beat Bac, who missed his low draw and could only muster fives-up. Jett, on the other hand, had trip sevens, and with no low the Father of the Gods scooped the pot, sending Shchemelev to the rail in sixth place. He earns $20,793 for his efforts.
