Bac That Thang Up!
The S.H.O.E. event is over and Dao Bac is winnar!
Bac augmented his lead over the course of the Stud stage, nearly crippling Adam Geyer but letting his rival back into the match just before the game switched to Hold'em.
Bac would press his advantage in the Hold'em stage, finally taking all but a few of Geyer's chips and then striking the decisive blow on a hand that began after Geyer raised out of the big blind and Bac called. The flop came T♠ 7♦ 5♥ and Geyer bet out. Bac raised and Geyer called, and the turn was the 3♣.
Again Geyer bet out and again Bac raised, this time to $120,000, which was just a little less than what remained in Geyer's stack. After tanking for a few minutes, Beyer moved all-in and Bac quickly called, showing 7♠ 4♠ for middle pair to Geyer's A♠ 7♥ for middle pair with a better kicker.
The river was poison to Geyer, however, bringing the 4♥ and giving Bac game, set, and match. He wins his first WSOP bracelet as well as $157,975 and an exclusive PokerListings.com interview. For second place, Adam Geyer earns $88,691, which is barely enough to pay PokerListings.com monthly airplane note but is deserving of congratulations nonetheless.
Congratulations to both finalists!
