Final Table Decided!
3 years agoCries and cheers from the crowd sang out at the final elimination. Leandro "Brasa" Pimentel has apparently brought over his entire extended family to cheer him on.
So the night is over for these Hold'em players and tomorrow the final table will be played in the sequestered area. Come join us at 2 p.m. for the fun!

Thomas Middlethon Eliminated in 10th Place
He got all-in with pocket queens, and it took a long time for his opponent to call - but he finally did - with A-J.
The flop was J-K-5, and the crowd was silent. As soon as the turn came, the crowd erupted into volcanic applause - an ace!! The river, inconsequentially, was a 7.
Thomas goes home in 10th place.
11th Place Elimination: Todd Lundwall
12th Place: Marc Phan
Marc got all-in with pocket 2's but was called by nines. The board did not improve his hand and he was eliminated.
13th Place: Francis Machiaut
Francis got all-in with pocket fives and Taylor Douglas called with A-3.
Douglas flopped an ace, and Francis was eliminated from the tournament.

It's Round 18 and we are down to 19 players on 3 tables - 10 eliminations from the final table.
Greg Mueller is taking out a few players, speeding up this journey to the final table. He is now up to $775,000 in chips.
Jesse Martin Eliminated
Greg Mueller had pocket nines and called Jesse's all-in on Q♦ 6♦. The board was 10-8-4-3-5, and Jesse didn't hit anything. He was sent to the rail and Greg took the pot.
Jim Kilarjian Eliminated
With pocket threes, Jim got all-in and was called by Greg Mueller with K-9. Greg hit a king on the flop.
Jim didn't triple up his threes so he was eliminated when the board didn't give him any graces.
Back From Dinner

Right before dinner, Arnold Spee busted out, and was seen walking the halls with a huge brick of cash. He was obviously unhappy with his tournament demise, but is really enjoying his new PokerListings.com black button down shirt.

Mueller's Deep Pockets
Play like the pros -- get pocket kings. That's what Greg Mueller has done again, once more doubling with trusty cowboys. Just like last time, Greg raised pre-flop, then called another player's all-in. This time his opponent had nines to double Mueller to near $320,000.
Ground to Powder
Facing one raise, Michael Mizrachi pushed with K♥ 3♥ pre-flop. His caller showed A♠ 9♥ and trailed by the T♦ 5♣ 4♦ K♠ turn; but the A♦ river ground Michael to the felt. Did we mention his nickname is the Grinder? Now it all makes sense.

First, there is a break while chips are brought into a more contemporary color. Then there is a break while players slip into something more comfortable. Or just try to wash the nacho grease off their hands. Nachos stain eternal.

3 years agoPacking the Mueller
Greg Mueller raised pre-flop, prompting another player to move all-in with A♦ J♦. Mueller called with K♦ K♣ to see the 7♣ 9♠ 5♣ 8♠ J♠ board; and rake a pot of more than $100,000. That ought to improve the canuck's Canada day.
Shorring Up
Shannon Shorr is still in it after moving over the top of one player's all-in. Everyone else folded, to reveal Shorr's pocket sevens and his opponent's J-3 offsuit. A seven on the flop added nearly $20,000 to Shorr's growing stack.
Devil Drives Mads
Former chip leader Mads Andersen ended his day after losing a big pot to pocket eights while holding ace-high. He then doubled holding K-T; but lost it all when his dominating A-7 came up against A-6. The 6 on the flop and another on the turn made a Mads-busting number of the beast.

Muchos Eliminations
The eliminations are coming fast and furious with more than 120 eliminations having occurred since the start of play today. All-ins are everywhere, with the roller-coaster blind structures catching up to players with a vengeance. Players are pushing with A4o and QJo and sucking out on opponents left and right, but the eliminations, they are still a-coming. We'll get down to nine before too long.
Mizrachi Muscles
Michael Mizrachi raises to $12,000 from middle position and is called by the big blind, who looks absolutely thrilled to be in a hand with the Grinder. The flop comes 8-6-2 rainbow and the big blind checks. Mizrachi moves all-in for about $60,000 and P1 folds. As the Grinder rakes the pot, he shows pocket tens. That is all.
Shorr Doubles
Shannon Shorr gets his last $30,000 into the middle following a late-position raise and shows A♦ 2♥ to Player 2's A♥ K♣. The board bails out the Alamaba Slamma as it comes 5♦ 4♠ 3♥, giving Shorr the wheel and after the turn and river brick out, the smooth double-up.

New Blood
Replacing the irreplaceable Chad Brown was a player unpacking a suspiciously large stack. Greg Mueller immediately wanted to know the newcomer's Full Tilt Poker screen name. The table's other players felt jilted by Greg's interest.
"You didn't ask me my name, man!" protested a considerably less-stacked player. "You didn't look like a big online player -- you just looked like a nice guy." replied the ever-placating Mueller.
We're Fresh Out of Chad
A player in middle position made it $10,000 to play, which folded the table around to Chad Brown in the small blind. Chad pushed for a total of $37,000 and showed his caller A♠ K♠. His opponent showed a dominated A♦ Q♣ and the race was on.
Unfortunately for Brown, the flop brought a queen with 8♥ 9♦ Q♥. The turn and river T♦ 2♣ brought no help for Chad, sadly de-Browning the field. Even the victor was a little downhearted:
"Chad, sorry man." he earnestly intoned. "It's all right, I encouraged the call." Returned the grim thespian, walking away from a table that also held Greg Mueller. Greg couldn't help a last call of "Good playing with you, Chad!" Brown is clearly beloved.
