Day 3 Live Updates
Edler Wins!
3 years agoBill Edler had built himself a 3-1 chip lead over Alex Bolotin and in the final hand of the match made a healthy pre flop raise holding A♣ 10♠.
Bolotin pushed all in and although Edler admitted to PokerListings.com following the hand that he knew if Bolotin pushed in he was going to call, he thought about for a minute or two before making it.
In the lead, Bolotin felted the A♥ Q♠ and looked to double up, but that dream was quickly dashed when the flop came down 3♠ 10♥ 3♥.
A back door flush draw or a Queen remained his only hopes and it was down to one of the three remaining Queens when the turn came the 5♦. The 8♠ river gave Edler the well deserved victory.
Bolotin cashes $504,686 for second and Edler takes home $904,672 and the coveted WSOP Gold bracelet.
Edlerrific!
3 years ago****Note: Spoiler Alert****
Reports from the shroud indicate that Bill Edler has won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, defeating Alex Bolotin in heads-up play to take down the title and nearly $1 million in first prize money. Specific hand details won't be available for another hour or so, but for now rest assured that all of PokerListings.com is rejoicing as much as Edler for his $904,672 victory.
For second place, Alex Bolotin takes home $504,686.
Stay tuned for more details and the exclusive PokerListings.com interview!
Bolotin Doubles!
3 years agoAlex Bolotin made the call holding K-6 when Greg Pohler pushed all in on the turn with the board reading K♠ 10♦ 5♦ J♥.
Bolitin sweated the decision for a few minutes and made the gutsy call with top pair and a weak kicker.
Pohler had Q-J and did not improve. He slips down to $1.2 million and Bolotin is in the lead now with around $2.4 million
Elder Doubles!
3 years agoBill Elder has doubled through chip leader Greg Pohler and is the new man on top.
Elder held A♠ Q♦ and moved in pre flop dominating Pohler's A♣ J♥. The flop and turn of Q♥ 3♦ 2♦ K♥ gave Pohler a staright draw, but the 4♠ river eneded that dream.
Elder has over $2 million in chips and grabs the chip lead.
Pohler doubles!
3 years agoGreg Pohler doubled through chip leader Erik Friberg and has vaulted into the lead himself.
On a flop of 7♦ 4♥ 3♦ Pohler bet $500K and Friberg came over the top all in.
Pohler felted the 10♥ 10♦ and was ahead against Fribergs A♣ 4♥.
The turn and river were blanks giving Pohler the pot and $2.5 million in chips. Friberg is down to $1.75 million.
Boyd devoid of chips!
3 years agoDutch Boyd lead throught most of Day 2, but has been eliminated 5th.
He'll cash $169,369 after his J♠ J♥ got cracked by Bill Elder's A♦ 7♠.
Elder hit the ace on the turn and the river was no help to Boyd!
Luong Gone!
3 years agoGioi Luong showed up, but didn't last long running K♠ Q♠ into Alex Bolotin's A♥ K♥.
Luong got it in pre flop, Bolotin called and the final board of 8♠ 7♦ 6♥ A♠ 6♦ was enough to send Luong to the rail.
He'll pocket $110,860 for sixth.
