Day 3 Live Updates
-- Spoilers -- Robert Rules!
5 years agoRobert Cheung has taken down the bracelet and $673,628 for first place. With the action still on time-delay the details are a little foggy; but we do know Robert was a seven-to-one chip leader when he called Richard Murnick's all-in.
Cheung happened to be holding Big Slick; and when an ace came on the turn, Murnick headed home with $417,117 for second place and No-Limit Hold'em had another winner from Vancouver, Canada. Stay tuned for PokerListings.com's winner interview, coming tonight.
Update 4 for Event 38, Day 3
5 years agoNew Number Two
Robert Cheung raised pre-flop, then called Andrew Lee -- who moved all-in from the big blind. Robert showed A♥ T♥ to Andrew's A♦ 8♥; and doubled through the Q♣ 6♥ 3♠ 5♠ 7♦ board to become second in chips.
Bjorout
Chris Bjorin showed K♥ Q♦ when he called Richard Murnick, who had moved all-in from under the gun. Richard held A♥ T♥ and made two pair on the T♠ 8♥ 2♥ 9♦ 8♣ board. Chris is out in sixth place with $87,215 for his play. We made $45 off the play we wrote in high school.
Update 3 for Event 38, Day 3
5 years agoHold'em for Fifteen
It's time for a fifteen-minute break -- or at least it was an hour ago, which is the length of the webcast delay. Back in those days, the official chip count according to www.worldseriesofpoker.com was:

Cry Suey
Suey Wong is out in seventh place with $68,225. Facing one raise pre-flop, Suey moved all-in with A♥ Q♥ to find one caller -- with A♦ K♠. The 8♠ 7♥ 5♠ 2♦ 8♣ board brought no hearts and no queens; and Wong is gonged.
Update 2 for Event 38, Day 3
5 years agoErica's Full Houses Empty Tables
Erica Schoenberg clearly has a strategy for today's final table: boat rides. After eliminating Nick Goodman with deuces over sixes, she took out Ernie Crespo with sixes over tens.
Ernie moved all-in under the gun with 5♣ 5♠ to be called by Erica's T♦ T♥. The flop came 7♥ 6♥ 6♣ 6♠ 3♦ to fill Erica's house and empty Ernie's seat. He will take $51,192 for his eighth-place finish.
The hand before, Erica took a pot off her nearest competitor Andrew Lee when she bet the flop -- which had brought her, yes, a boat of twos over nines. Erica is up close to $3,000,000, roughly double Andrew's stack.
Update 1 for Event 38, Day 3
5 years agoErica Nicks Goodall
The first hand of the day sees Erica Schoenberg eliminate Nick Goodall in ninth place. Robert Cheung raised in early position for a call from Nick and Erica to see the 7♠ 6♦ 2♠ flop. Robert bet, Nick slowly moved all-in; and Erica pushed her stack over the top to fold Cheung.
Nick flipped 8♦ 8♠ for an overpair, only to see Erica's flopped set 2♠ 2♥. The turn and river brought 6♣ J♦ and a full house for Erica, who moves up near $2,000,000 in chips. Nick takes home $40,195 for his efforts.
