It's Over!

Paul Evans limps-in and Ciaran O'Leary checks his option. The flop comes K 6 2 and Evans bets out $500,000. O'Leary moves all-in and Evans insta-calls, showing 6 3 to O'Leary's K 3. Evans needs a six or running cards to stay alive, and after the turn is the K, he has earned a few more outs. The crowd is on its feet as O'Leary disappears yet again, seeking the comfort of his friends and family as he awaits the river.

After a long TV pause, the river card is revealed, and it's the 9! Ciaran O'Leary is the winner of the largest non-Main Event poker tournament in WSOP history! O'Leary takes home $727,012 for his finish, while runner-up Paul Evans earns $450,150. Congratulations to both finalists!

The Fro Says Goodbye

Alex Jacob
Alex Jacob 's day is done and the tourney is headed to heads up. Ciaran O'Leary limped in from the small blind and Jacob checked. After O'Leary checked in the dark Jacob bet $150,000 on a flop of A 4 2. O'Leary raised to $600,000, and Jacob called. When the K came on the turn O'Leary pushed all in. Deep in thought it took Jacob several minutes before deciding to make the call for all his chips turning over 9 4. O'Leary flipped over a pair of sevens and the 6 river was a brick, sending Jacob home in third and $282,367 richer. Now we're heads up for the bracelet.

And Then There Were Three

Ciarin O'Leary
Yoak Cracked

Jeff Yoak is gone. Moving all in with K Q Yoak is called by Ciaran O'Leary with A 6 and an ace on the flop ends the day for Yoak. $184,152 should help heal the wound.

Crivello Crushed

Coming back from the break Craig Crivello was eliminated in 5th Place and will pick up $128,907. Ciaran O'Leary made it $410,000 to go from the small blind and Crivello moved all in from the big blind. O'Leary quickly called. When the cards were turned over O'Leary had Crivello's A 7 dominated with A 8. No seven, no help and no more Crivello.

Krause kicked out

Just before the break Andreas Krause was sent packing in sixth place. On the button Krause moved all in with K 10, but was called by Paul Evans in the small blind with A 9. An ace on the flop was enough to kill Krause. He'll pick up a cheque for $94,122. The next player ousted will collect six figures.

Must be the Luck O' The Irish

Ciaran O'Leary is moving on up as he doubled up thanks to Paul Evans and then again through chip leader Alex Jacob in a matter of a few hands.

Evans raised a quarter million from the button and O'Leary moved all in with cowboys in the small blind. Evans quickly called showing the Q J. The board blanked and O'Leary raked in $1.4 million in chips. Evans is inching closer to the rail with just $435,000 left.

Alex Jacob must be feeling a bit generous, or pissed off, after doubling up both Jeff Yoak and Ciaran O'Leary in two straight hands. First, Jacob's K 10 wasn't enough to beat Yoak's A J and then his pocket nines were beat by O'Leary's lovely ladies. O'Leary and Jacob are just about tied for the chip lead now. Nothing is over 'till it's over - right Rock.

Jacob is the Man

This thing is quickly become a battle for second place as Alex Jacob has amassed $4.1 million chips - about as many chips as the rest of the table. But as any good PokerListings.com reporter will tell you, anything can happen and there's still some poker to be played here.

Irish native Ciaran O'Leary just managed to avoid a trip to the rail when his pocket nines turned a set against Paul Evans pocket kings. Begging for the nine "One time," he let out a scream to the crowd, shaking his fists in the air when his prayers were answered.

Moments later Craig Crivello managed to double up through Jeff Yoak. Crivello pushed all in behind with K 9 against Yoak's A Q but the board of K 8 5 7 6 was enough to keep his tournament from ending. Yoak is now the short stack with around $700,000. PokerListings.com has got our eyes on him and we'll keep you updated.

Bustin' Loose

We told you these things would be coming fast and furious. Not one, but three players have busted out in the last few minutes. First, Matt Vengrin was sent to the cage to collect $43,378 for his ninth place finish. The now local Las Vegas student moved all in for $680,00 after Alex Jacob raised UTG to $150,000. Jacob went into the tank, but emerged calling, flipping over the K Q. Vegrin smiled as he flashed his A J but the smile was wiped off his face when Jacob hit a Q on the flop. The final board of Q 8 3 4 9 was no help to Vengrin so he'll head back to class without the gold this time around and the rich get a little richer as Jacob's stack is growing again.

Bart Hanson was the next to go when he moved all in for almost $360,000 and ended up in a race with Andreas Krause. Hanson had the A 10, but it wasn't enough to beat Krause's pocket Queens. Bart will take home $55,246 for his troubles.

Next to go was U.S. Army boy Thad Smith taking home seventh Place. Smith moved all in with K Q but was bested by Craig Crivello's pocket fives. Crivello actually flopped a full house, fives over nines. When the board blanked for Smith, he was sent packing. Don't worry though, he'll take $73,661 back to the barracks for three days work. Significantly more than a soldier's salary.

Lights, Camera and already some Action

The action began right from the get-go at the final table this afternoon. Chip leader Alex Jacob isn't exactly pushing the competition around, but he has taken his share of the first few pots. Bart Hanson was the first to make a big move as he doubled up through Craig Crivello. Crivello raised UTG to $125,000 and was called in the big blind by Hanson. Hanson then pushed in his remaining $50,000 in the dark. The flop came K Q 9 and Crivello called with A 10. Hanson flips up the J 2 needing a 10 for the gut-shot straight or runner-runner spades. Sure enough, the 8 on the turn and the A on the river gives Hanson the flush and saves him from going out ninth.

Things got moving again just a few hands later when Andreas moved all in for $390,000 with A Q and ended up heads up with Matt Vengrin and his two nines. The board of 8 3 2 4 5 gave the European pro a five high straight keeping him alive. And alive he must of felt, screaming "Yaaaaa!" loud enough for the enitre Amazon Room to take notice.

We're still nine handed, but if this kind of action keeps up it won't be long before somebody busts.
