Ben Ponzio

Ben Ponzio took down the final hand of the night holding K Q.

Ben instacalled when Dave Hewitt moved all in with 10 3. The board of J 9 6 8 A meant no pair for either and Ben's King high took it down.

Ponzio takes home the gold and $599,467 for first. Second place paid $374,216.

Here's the action that led to Ponzio and Hewitt going heads up:

Justin Rollo picked up third place and $244,566 after he went al in with Q 5 and was beaten by Dave Hewitt's K 10. The final board read A 7 4 2 6.

Evan Schwartz was eliminated in fourth when his Q 3 was beaten by Justin Rollo's 6 6 and the board of A J 9 8 5 gave him no help. He picked up $165,008 for fourth.

Rice Out!

Travis Rice began the day with the chip lead, but could not hold on.

At his second final table of the 2007 WSOP, Rice got short stacked when his pocket Jacks were beaten by Ben Ponzio's K-Q on a board of A 10 4 Q 7.

Travis moved in with 8 7 on the very next hand against David Hewitt's A 7 and the Q 10 3 7 5 board gave them both a pair of sevens. Hewitt's Ace kicker played.

Rice will add $111,970 to his 2007 WSOP winnings for fifth.

Four handed now and Ponzio has a slight edge in chips.

Noam shrunk!

Danny Noam was knocked out sixth when his 8 8 lost to Evan Schwartz's A 10.

The board of Q 10 5 4 left Noam praying for a diamond on the river, but the 4 piece of coal sent him packing.

His $82,504 cash means the next player out will pick up six figures!

Now it's five handed poker! Keep it right here at PokerListings.com for the all the goods!

Hewitt Triples Up!

David Hewit shoved pre flop with A 7 only to get two callers.

The 6 5 4 flop gave him the up and down straight draw, which the 10 turn did not complete.  However, he tripled up when the 8 river did the job.

Rollo Rolling!

Justin Rollo called an Evan Schwartz raise from the cutoff and bet out $375,000 when Schwartz checked on a A Q 8 flop.

Schwartz put Rollo all in and he made the call with K Q. Schwartz held top pair with his A 5 and the 10 kept him in the lead.

However, the 2 on the river gave Rollo the flush and doubles him up!

He's now chip boss as things are moving fast.

Einiger Gone!

Ken Einiger has gone out in eighth after putting his money in with the best of it and getting slayed by a river King.

On a flop of Q 6 6, Einiger bet $300,000 holding the A Q. Evan Schwartz looked down at his A K and came over the top, putting Einiger all in.

Einiger called and dodged the 4 turn but the K ended his day.

He'll cash $45,672 for eighth.

Seven handed play and Schwartz has vaulted into the lead with better than $2 million in chips.

Ponzio Pounces!

Ben Ponzio made a move with A K pushing all in from the button only to see Danny Noam call with 3 3.

Fortunately for Ponzio, and Ace hit on the flop and although things got interesting when the board read A 9 8 10 on the turn, the Q on the river ensured there would be no split pot.

Ponzio's double up puts him back in the thick of things with Travis Rice still holding a big chip lead.

Ronconi Rousted!

Darryl Ronconi was the first player to emerge from behind the curtain after being eliminated in 9th.

He made it $100,000 to go pre-flop, but was reraised by Travis Rice in the BB another $460,000. Darryl moved in and Rice called with K Q.

Ronconi was a slight favourite holding J J, but a Queen on the flop and no help the rest of the way sealed his fate.

He'll pick up $34,770 and the game is now eight handed!
