Great Saro for Sanford
It's over! After folding the blinds to Saro Getzoyan for a number of hands, Geoff Sanford finally made a move, with a pre-flop raise. Saro called to see the J♠ 8♥ 4♣ flop, which he bet. Sanford raised, Saro re-raised to put him all-in and Geoff called, showing 9♥ 8♠ for middle pair.
Saro flipped up Q♥ J♥ for top pair and the anxious crowd pressed close. Q♣ came on the turn to give Getzoyan two pair; and the river the 7♦. The tight crowd erupted in applause and Saro Getzoyan took the bracelet.
Geoff Sanford took $200,511 and second place while Getzoyan -- immediately on the phone to make a flight home in time for work the next day -- took the top prize of $333,379. The players shook hands and posed for photographs before the emotional crowd.
