Event 16, H.O.R.S.E. - Live Updates
Day 3 Live Updates
We Have a Winner!
5 years agoAfter enjoying a decisive chip lead for the duration of the heads-up match, James Richburg chopped away at the stack of Walter Browne until he was left with only a few hundred thousand.
On the final hand of the match, during a round of Razz, Browne was all-in on third street with (2-5)-7 trailing the (2-4)-3 of Richburg. After all the cards were out Richburg had the best of it with six-low, besting the ten of Walter Browne.
With that final death-blow Walter Browne is out in second, taking $131,790 and James Richburg has his second WSOP bracelet and an extra $239,503!
Heads-Up!
5 years agoWith the elimination of Chris Bjorin, we are down to heads-up play. These two will continue until a winner is decided so check back for continuing updates.
Chip Counts Strike Back:
| Seat 1: | James Richburg: | $1,275,000 |
| Seat 2: | Walter Browne: | $635,000 |
Bjorin Blasted (3rd)
Christer Bjorin, perhaps the most experienced of the final three players, has been busted in third place, paving the way for the heads-up match between James Richburg and Walter Browne.
Bjorin's stack was whittled down to next to nothing before he got all his chips in before the flop in a three-way pot. The flop came 8-6-2 rainbow and, with Bjorin all-in, Brown bets out. Richburg makes it two bets to go and Browne calls. The turn is the K♠ and after a check from Browne, Richburg fires again.
Browne decides to get out of the way and it's a showdown between Bjorin and Richburg, with the former's tournament life on the line. A-2o for Richburg is leading the T-J of Bjorin and after the river fails to connect for either player, Chris Bjorn is gone in third, taking $83,467 to go.
Down to Three; It's All Gone Tom Schneider
5 years agoThe three surviving players are now being dealt Seven-Card Stud.
No Second Bracelet for Schneider
After taking down Event 5 less than a week ago, Tom Schneider came to today's final table with dreams of a second bracelet dancing in his head. Unfortunately it was not to be, with Schneider hitting the rail in fourth place.
It was during a round of Seven-Card Stud when he found himself all-in against James Richburg holding (7-8)-8-9-6 which was trailing Richburg's (K-9)-5-K-Q. Neither player improved on subsequent streets and Tom is gone in fourth for $54,913.
Could be a Longy
With the three remaining players sitting with pretty deep stacks and playing a conservative style, even for HORSE, we could be in for a long night before we have a winner.
The Good, the Bad, and the Chip Count
Here are the seats and counts for the three bracelet hopefuls:
| Seat 1: | James Richburg: | $1.2 million |
| Seat 2: | Walter Browne: | $470,000 |
| Seat 3: | Chris Bjorin: | $320,000 |
Down to four; Eslami Slammed (5th)
5 years agoAli Eslami has been sent packing, leaving four players to duke it our for the bracelet and the first place cash. During a round of Limit Hold'em, Eslami got all-in on the turn with the board showing A♥ T♦ 3♣ 5♥. Ali held 5-4 for a pair of fives but was trailing James Richburg's Q-T for second pair. The river was the 3♠ and Ali Eslami is out in fifth, taking $42,612 with him.
Chips/Seats:
| Seat 1: | James Richburg: | $790,000 |
| Seat 2: | Tom Schneider: | $320,000 |
| Seat 3: | Walter Browne: | $355,000 |
| Seat 4: | Chris Bjorin: | $435,000 |
We'll be playing down to a winner tonight so keep it locked to find out who it will be!
Mizrachi Griz-inded
5 years agoRobert Mizrachi has been sent to the rail after struggling with a shortstack for some time. The death blow came during a round of Seven-Card Stud. Mizrachi was all-in on fourth street showing (Td-5d)-As-7♦ up against the (Jd-4♦)-2♦ K♦ of Chris Bjorin.
Bjorin takes the lead when he receives another king and makes his flush on the next street when he is dealt another diamond. Mizrachi is drawing dead going to the river and takes $32,069 for his sixth place finish.
Final Five Counts/Seats:
| Seat 1: | Ali Eslami: | $152,000 |
| Seat 2: | James Richburg: | $525,000 |
| Seat 3: | Tom Schneider: | $304,000 |
| Seat 4: | Walter Browne: | $500,000 |
| Seat 5: | Chris Bjorin: | $525,000 |
The players are back from the dinner break and the cards are back in the air.
Herb Van Dyke Busts in 7th Place ($24,601)
5 years agoKazaam! - Harry Kazazian Eliminated in 8th Place ($18,011)
5 years agoHarry Kazazian, who was already crippled by a previous hand with Ali Eslami, pushes all-in from the button for $18,000. Tom Schneider re-raises to 24,000 and Robert Mizrachi calls. Kazazian shows J♦ 10♦ while Schneider shows 9♣ 9♠ and Mizrachi flips over K♥ 9♦.
