We Have a Winner! 2 years ago

After enjoying a decisive chip lead for the duration of the heads-up match, James Richburg chopped away at the stack of Walter Browne until he was left with only a few hundred thousand.

On the final hand of the match, during a round of Razz, Browne was all-in on third street with (2-5)-7 trailing the (2-4)-3 of Richburg. After all the cards were out Richburg had the best of it with six-low, besting the ten of Walter Browne.

With that final death-blow Walter Browne is out in second, taking $131,790 and James Richburg has his second WSOP bracelet and an extra $239,503!

Bjorin Blasted (3rd)

Christer Bjorin, perhaps the most experienced of the final three players, has been busted in third place, paving the way for the heads-up match between James Richburg and Walter Browne.

Bjorin's stack was whittled down to next to nothing before he got all his chips in before the flop in a three-way pot. The flop came 8-6-2 rainbow and, with Bjorin all-in, Brown bets out. Richburg makes it two bets to go and Browne calls. The turn is the Ks and after a check from Browne, Richburg fires again.

Browne decides to get out of the way and it's a showdown between Bjorin and Richburg, with the former's tournament life on the line. A-2o for Richburg is leading the T-J of Bjorin and after the river fails to connect for either player, Chris Bjorn is gone in third, taking $83,467 to go.
