Pat Poels looking confident

Pat is talking in between pots and enjoying himself. Saying things like "It has been kind of fun all day". Perhaps he thinks this is over, but it looks like Lucas might say differently. He is totally focused on the game.

Heads up now between Poels and Lucas

Jeff Duvall is busted by Lucas

Three way unraised before the flop. The flop came J T 5. Duvall led out with a 15k bet and was called by both Poels and Lucas. The turn brought the 2 and Duvall led out putting himself all in. Again both opponents called. The river brought the T. Poels checked, Lucas bet, and Poels folded. Lucas turned over the 2 5 K Q, Duvall mucked without showing his hand.

No young guns at this table

Unusual final table in the sense that there are no 21 year old young guns left of the final four. These days you are used to seing at least one really young player in the final three. Last night Eric Froehlich became the youngest ever WSOP winner.

Jim is all in again

This time he wins 3/4 of the pot. One of these things that basically only happens in high-low games. Slowly but surely he might be ab;e to make a come back.

Jim is by far the shortest stack

Jim is obviously waiting for a hand to go all in with. This final table has many hours to go before we will have a winner. The blinds increases are small and the levels are 1.5 hours.

Jim was all-in vs Heimiller

Jim was all in vs Heimiller, but they ended up splitting the pot. It was actually a bad beat for Jim since both players had the same hand on the turn but Jim was free rolling for a flush and a better low.

About Omaha Hi-Lo

Omaha Hi-Lo is a split pot game meaning you can win the pot by holding either the best high hand or the best low and (all cards 8 and lower). The goal is to sccop the pot meaning having both the bet high and low hand. In a show dwon pots are often split between the best low and high hand. There also exists a possibility of being quartered meaning you only win one fourth of the pot. This ususally happens when someone is tied for the best low hand and someone else has the best high hand.

I have played with two of the bigger stacks

I have personaly played with two of the final table players. Jeff Duval and Dan Heimiller. Duval is an old school solid pro who has been doing well in Europe over the years and Heimiller is a very aggressive player whom I had to my immediate right in the WPT Party Poker Million IV tournament. I was very aggressive pre-flop raising every time he was first in from late position. I three bet him plenty of times pre-flop and he slowed down considerable after the flop. A player like that to your right adds a lot of swings to your chip stack.
