Day 5 Live Updates

WPT Legends: Frankenberger Wins It!

Andrew Frankenberger
2010 Legends of Poker champ Andy Frankenberger.

In just the first few hands heads-up Kyle Wilson found himself all in with A 3 against Andy Frankenberger's A 9.

The flop brought a nine, but two diamonds.

However, the turn and river bricked and while Wilson went off to collect $370,000 in second-place money, Frankenberger had just become the 2010 WPT Legends of Poker champion and is $750k richer as a result.

You'll find a few words from the champ in the News later, but for now, that's all from Legends!

WPT Legends: Lee Licked (3rd)

Tom Lee
This about sums it up.

From the outset, Kyle Wilson was the most active player three-handed, pushing his way closer to chip leader Tom Lee with small pot after small pot.

A confrontation was inevitable and seemed to be coming when Wilson three-bet Lee pre-flop.

Lee called and then Wilson check-raised all-in on a Q T 5 flop with about 3.5 million chips in the middle.

Lee asked for a count, he but folded, giving Wilson both the pot and the chip lead.

A few hands later a shorter stacked Andy Frankenberger shoved A 9 and got looked up by Wilson holding A 7.

A seven came on the flop, but so did a nine and Frankenberger doubled back over the two-million chip mark.

Frankenberger picked up some more steam pushing Wilson off of a 2.5 million chip pot with a shove on the river of a four-diamond board and suddenly he was in the lead in a tight three-way race for the Legends crown.

Soon after, Lee shoved on a Q J T 4 board heads-up with Kyle Wilson in a 1.5 million chip pot, sending him into the tank for what seemed like an eternity.

The clock was called and Wilson folded, leaving him the shortest of the three.

Lee then got it in with two pair versus a Frankenberger club draw after a series of post flop raises.

A club on the turn made the difference and while Frankenberger was suddenly the big chip leader holding over seven million in chips, Lee was crippled.

He shoved the next hand, both players called and after a K 9 4 Q J board ran out, Frankenberger bet Wilson off the hand and showed the nut-flush to eliminate Lee in third.

Lee cashed $174,772 for third in his second WPT Legends final table appearance and the 2010 WPT Legends of Poker went heads up with Frankenberger holding an almost 3:1 chip lead over Wilson.

WPT Legends: Braband Branded (4th)

Tom Braband
Six figure score.

Four-handed Andy Frankenberger pushed Kyle Wilson off an almost 1.5 million chip pot with a shove on the river of a A K 5 2 4 board.

As a result, Tom Lee had a healthy lead, with Wilson and Frankenberger about even one and a half million chips back.

Tom Braband suddenly looked short under one million total when he decided it was go time.

He got it in with Jack-King-off against Kyle Wilson's nines and completely missed.

They're down to three-handed at Legends now, with Braband headed to the cage to collect $109,000 in fourth-place money and Wilson closing in on Lee.

WPT Legends: Jaffee Jipped (5th)

Jared Jaffee
Junked.

Chips were traded around the table for a little while until Jared Jaffee got short enough to have to make a move.

Unfortunately, he made that move with top pair on a J 4 7 7 board and Kyle Wilson had a seven.

The river fell the K, taking Jaffee's hopes with it.

He takes fifth for $86,000 in his second WPT final table appearance and we are down to just four players remaining at Legends.

WPT Legends: Brunetti Brutalized (6th)

Franco Brunetti
Franco got *#@%ed.

The early going was slow before a shortstacked Tom Braband doubled through Andy Frankenberger holding pocket kings against top pair jacks.

He was suddenly back up and over the one million mark when he got Jared Jafee all in with sevens versus nines.

The flop fell 6 5 2 and after a T turn and 2 river, Jafee's nines held and Braband was on the ropes again.

In the meantime, Kyle Wilson and Tom Lee began separating themselves from the pack in a two way race for the chip lead before Braband got it in with a turned gutshot and one overcard against Franco Brunetti's top pair.

He managed to hit the straight on the river to double up again and leave Brunetti crippled.

Soon after, Brunetti's king-high got outflopped by Kyle Wilson's rags to put him out sixth for $63k and we were suddenly down to five at the 2010 WPT Legends of Poker.

Check the chip count tab for the latest on how they stack up five-handed.

WPT Legends: Where Boys Become Men

Kyle Wilson
The name on the marquee.

We're back at the Bike for the 2010 WPT Legends of Poker final table and things will get rolling just seconds from now.

While the names are not the most recognizable in the game, the final six here at Legends represents an interesting mix of players on the verge of something big.

Canadian Kyle Wilson's name is on the marquee as he'll be looking to better the sixth place finish he booked here in 2008.

An online legend from back in the day, Wilson will have to first get past Andy Frankenberger if he hopes to bank the $750k first prize here in L.A.

A Wall Street trader turned day trader with a knack for poker Frankenberger is coming off a win in the Venetian Deepstack this summer and looks ready for prime time.

Also slightly above Wilson in the counts is Tom Lee, who coincidently finished sixth here back in 2003.

The three players in the bottom half of the counts include Jared Jaffe, who's made second at the Wynn Classic and fourth at the WPT Southern Poker Championships in Biloxi already thids year and would surprise no one with a win at Legends.

Next is Tom Braband, who has almost $200k in career earnings and is playing in his first televised final table and L.A. restaurateur Franco Brunetti, who has over $600k in live tournament cashes but hasn't hit the big time until today.

The final six will play to a winner over the next few hours and PokerListings is on the scene.

We'll update the chip counts regularly and post a few photos and an update every time someone busts all the way until a 2010 WPT Legends champ is crowned.

Plus we'll have words with the winner in the News when it's all said and done.

Stay tuned, the 2010 WPT Legends of Poker final table starts now!
