Rajkumar Wins!

Vivek Rajkumar
He's the man now!
The first big tangle of heads-up has ended the Borgata Poker Open.

Sang Kim got all his chips in the middle in a dominating position with A Q against Vivek Rajkumar's A J.

But all it took was the J T 7 flop for Vivek to take the lead and when the A turn and 8 river fell, so did Kim.

He takes $750,000 for second but the title, the glory and the $1.4 million is now Rajkumar's!

A full recap of Rajkumar's breakthrough win will be up here before the night is through.

Vivek Rajkumar
The duck man!

With heads-up about to begin we should tell you that Vivek Rajkumar could become the fastest winner in WPT history if he gets this thing done in 11 more hands.

The record he will break belongs to Eugene Katchalov, who won the Five Diamond last year in 53 hands.

Vivek is one of those online kids who was weaned on the game on the 2+2 forums, and a few of his math-geek buddies with obviously too much time on their hands and a complete inability to detect sarcasm are railing him there now.

Heimiller Humped (Third)

Dan Heimiller
Coo-coo-ca-choo.
We are now heads-up as Dan Heimiller's run at Borgata fame and fortune is over.

He open-shoved with Q 3 and Vivek Rajkumar made the call with A 5.

Vivek's unbelievable luck continued when he not only spiked a five on the K 4 5 flop - he turned and rivered fives too, with the 5 and 5 making him quads.

Heimiller goes out third, cashing $387,500, and it's now heads-up between Rajkumar ($16 million) and Sang Kim ($4 million).

Strochak Struck (Fourth)

Jason Strochak
337,500 reasons to smile.
As expected, Jason Strochak began shoving and has now gone out fourth.

He picked up J 2 and ran it right into Vivek Rajkumar's Q J. The Q 5 2 flop gave them both a pair, and the 3 turn meant any diamond and Jason would double.

In the end, though, the 6 river sealed Strochak's fate. He cashes $337,500 for fourth.

Now three-handed, it's Vivek with too many chips to count and Dan Heimiller and Sang Kim seemingly playing for second place.

Kim Doubles!

Sang Kim
Yes, he's still here.
Jason Strochak and Sang Kim just ran their short stacks into each other in a hand that pretty much played itself.

Unbelievably, considering it is four-handed, it was queens for Strochak against Kim's kings and when the board ran out A J 9 2 7, Kim doubled.

Strochak was left crippled and should start shoving any minute now.

The Vivek Show!

Dan Heimiller
The courage of kings.

Vivek Rajkumar is shoving just about every hand, forcing the three shorter stacks to play for it all if they want to play at all.

However, a fearless Dan Heimiller just moved ahead of the pack and a little closer to Rajkumar by doubling through him.

He ran with pocket kings into Rajkumar's A 8 and doubled when the J 2 T 2 6 board brought no king cracking combos.

He's now got $4 million, but Vivek, who continues to push everybody around, is still on about $12 million.

Seif Endangered (Fifth)

Mark Seif
Un-Seif!
Mark Seif is leaving us in fifth place after failing to recover from Vivek Rajkumar's massive suck-out against him.

He shoved short again and got another call from Rajkumar.

This time Vivek's A 5 was ahead against Mark's K Q and when the board ran out 7 7 J 7 2, Seif was done.

He'll cash $287,500 for fifth.

Now four-handed, Vivek has almost $13 million, while Dan Heimiller, Sang Kim and Jason Strochak are each hovering around $2.5 million.

This is now Vivek's to win and he knows it.

Mark Seif
Not really this happy anymore.

We're in the middle of a TV timeout here, but we can tell you Mark Seif managed to double up once to get back to around $600k when Vivek auto-called his shove with deuce-three and couldn't suck out on Seif's suited queen.

The action will begin again in just a few minutes.

The Biggest Suck-Out Yet!

Vivek Rajkumar
The new suck-out king.
Mark Seif and Vivek Rajkumar just got into a huge pre-flop raising war that ended with Vivek pushing all-in and Seif making the call.

Seif looked good to rail the one-time chip leader with A A against Vivek's T T, but a massive suck-out was just a flop away.

The T Q 5 dropped, giving Rajkumar the lead, and although the Q turn gave Seif two more outs, the 9 wasn't one of them.

Vivek grabs the $12 million pot and the healthy lead, while Seif has not much more than a chip and a chair.

Strochak's Back!

Jason Strochak
Triple your pleasure.
Jason Strochak just shoved again and this time he looked as good as out when Dan Heimiller looked him up with a dominating K 5 against his 5 6.

Miraculously, he flopped a straight when the 7-8-9 was revealed, and looked like a sure bet to double.

The turn changed things again, though, when a six made Heimiller's straight and the pot was chopped.

Strochak tried again the very next hand and Vivek Rajkumar made a quick $910k call.

Heimiller went deep into the tank, slowing things way down before making the call himself.

The 5 5 4 flop brought a $1.4 million bet from Heimiller and Vivek open-folded A-T.

The cards were revealed and it was jacks for Heimiller against A 4 for Strochak.

It looked like Jason would meet his maker this time until the miracle two-outer A turn gave him the lead and the 2 river kept him there.

Once short, Strochak now has $3 million and Heimiller is the one needing help.

Strochak's Ego Stroked!

Jason Strochak
Happy days are here again.
Jason Strochak just shoved his last $450k in the middle and got a call from Dan Heimiller.

Strochak was ahead with the J 8 against Heimiller's T 9, and he stayed there to double up when the 6 2 2 Q K board revealed itself.

Strochak is still short but has a little more breathing room now.

Seif Sucks Out!

Mark Seif
Eight ball, one time.
Jason Strochak just became the victim of a massive Mark Seif suck-out.

Seif made a pre-flop raise, Strochak made a huge reraise and Seif pushed in.

Having Mark covered - but barely -, Jason made the call and looked good to send the Absolute Poker pro to the rail with two black queens against his pocket eights.

The flop changed everything, however, as Seif spiked an eight and never looked back.

After a great start, Strochack is now crippled while Seif is safe for now.

Knee Jerk-Reactioned (Sixth)

Knee ACL'd.
It took about 10 minutes for Andrew Knee to find a way out of the final six.

He open-shoved his short stack under the gun with A 4 and got the call from the other short short, Jason Strochak, holding T T.

The board came Q 5 2 K 8 and just like that we were down to five.

For sixth, Knee elbows his way into $237,500.
