Day 6 Live Updates
Game Over! Ivey Wins LAPC!
4 years agoOn the second hand of heads-up play, Quinn Do limps in from the small blind and Phil Ivey raises to $400,000 from the big blind. The flop comes A♠ 8♠ 6♠ and Ivey bets out $700,000. Do makes the call, leaving himself with only about $1 million behind, and the turn is the A♣. Ivey moves all-in and Do goes into the tank, counting and re-counting his stack and looking absolutely miserable about the circumstances.
Eventually, after some serious soul-searching, Do announces a call and turns up 9♥ 8♥ for aces-up. Ivey, however, has A♥ 8♦ for aces-full and Do is drawing dead. The river card is a meaningless 4♣ and Phil Ivey has won the Los Angeles Poker Classic and his first World Poker Tour title!
For the win, the Full Tilt pro will take home $1,596,100 as well as a gigantic trophy and a WPT chip set. Quinn Do earns $909,400 for his second-place finish. Congratulations to both finalists and to the staff at the Commerce Casino and World Poker Tour for staging another epic event!
Heads-Up Begins
4 years agoHeads-Up Loometh
4 years agoWe're taking a quick break before starting heads-up play between Phil Ivey and Quinn Do. Here are the chip counts to mull over as you wait:
| Phil Ivey | $10,680,000 |
| Quinn Do | $2,480,000 |
Sooo... Ivey's kind of dominating.
"Woody" Woodpecker'd! (Third)
4 years agoOn the hand after Nam Le's elimination, Phil Ivey limps in from the small blind and Charles "Woody" Moore checks his option in the big blind. The flop comes 8♥ 5♥ 2♦ and Ivey bets out $160,000. Moore flat-calls and the turn is the 7♠. Ivey fires out $400,000 and Moore moves all-in. Ivey immediately calls with 8♦ 7♣ for top two while Moore is on the draw with 6♥ 2♠.
Moore needs a nine, four or deuce to stay alive, but the river card is the J♠ and we're down to two players in this LAPC final table. Moore is out in third place and will take home $625,630 for his finish.
Nam Bammed! (Fourth)
4 years agoIvey Adds to Lead
4 years agoThe last few rounds have seen plenty of raising but very little calling, with Nam Le and Charles Moore both moving all-in and getting no callers. Meanwhile, Phil Ivey continues to press his advantage, taking a tidy pot from Quinn Do just moments ago.
Ivey raised to $450,000 from under the gun and Do made the call in the small blind. The flop came K♥ 8♠ 4♠ and Do checked to Ivey, who bet out $700,000. Do tanked for a few minutes but then folded out and Ivey took down the pot.

Le Getting Lo
4 years agoNam Le has moved all-in in each of the last two hands without getting a caller. The second time he open-shoved under the gun for his last $1,140,000 and the action folded around to Quinn Do in the big blind, who went into the tank for a few minutes before finally laying down the hand and giving up the blinds and antes.
We're now on a 10-minute tape change break. Action will resume shortly.

4 years agoMoore Takes One from Le
4 years agoNam Le raises to $240,000 and Charles Moore re-raises to $600,000 in the small blind. Action folds back to Le, who makes the call and as we go to the flop, Moore checks in the dark. The flop comes T♦ 9♥ 4♣ and Le bets out $400,000. Moore raises to $1 million flat and Le ruminates for a few minutes before faking a fold. The crowd erupts in cheers and Le hangs onto his cards, leading the crowd to laugh as they realize their mistake while the Bapesta keeps a straight face. After a few more minutes, Le folds out and Moore takes down the pot, for real this time.
The blinds are on their way up, with the price of poker now $60,000/$120,000 with a $20,000 ante.
Do Doubles Through Montgomery
4 years agoScott Montgomery raises to $300,00 and Quinn Do moves all-in over the top all-in for about $1 million more. Action folds back to Montgomery, who tanks for a few minutes before announcing, "I don't want to call, but I'm not going to fold." He calls and shows A♦ 5♥, which surprisingly puts him ahead of Do's Q♠ J♥.
The flop comes Q♣ 9♦ 7♥ and the pro-Do contingent goes wild. The turn is the 9♠ and the river the T♦ and Do doubles through Montgomery to over $2.6 million.
Moore Dinties Hellmuth! (Sixth)
4 years agoPhil Hellmuth open-shoves all-in from the cut-off and Charles Moore makes the call in the small blind, turning up A♥ Q♥ to Hellmuth's A♦ 9♠. The Poker Brat is way behind and will need help to avoid being the first person eliminated at this final table.
The flop A♣ J♠ 2♥ and though the crowd begs the dealer for a nine, Hellmuth remains behind. The turn is the 7♣ and the river the Q♣ and the Poker Brat has been eliminated in sixth place. The Poker Brat shakes everyone's hand and exits to collect his $229,820 while muttering something profane about Nam Le.

4 years agoAction folds around to Nam Le in the small blind and he limps in. In the big blind, Phil Hellmuth checks his option and the flop comes J♦ 6♥ 3♦. Le bets out $140,000 and Hellmuth makes the call. The turn is the K♥ and Le bets out $350,000. Hellmuth asks Le for a count before putting him all-in for his last $600,000.
Le makes the call, turning up K♣ 3♣ and Hellmuth stands. "Goddamn it, he spiked a king on me." The Poker Brat turns up J♥ 8♣ and is behind heading to the river. Fifth street is the T♠ and Le has doubled through Hellmuth, who in a sporting gesture destroys the 20-stacks of chips as they are being shipped over to Le.
