My Schwartz Is Bigger than Your Schwartz – Watkinson Eliminated Fifth

Lee Watkinson open-shoves from the button and Noah Schwartz makes the call. The players flip over their cards and Schwartz is once again in the lead.

Lee Watkinson: 7-7

Noah Schwartz: 8-8

The board goes A J 10 9 2 and this time Schwartz’ hand holds up. Watkinson is eliminated fifth and will earn $282,779 for his efforts in the tournament.

Watkinson Doubles

2006 WSOP Pot-Limit Omaha Champ Lee Watkinson moves all-in from the small blind for $260,000 and Schwartz considers a call. After a couple minutes Schwartz makes the call and tables K 6. He’s in good shape against Watkinson who shows J 9.

The flop comes A 10 4 and Schwartz is still in the lead. Unfortunately for the Schwartz-man J hits on the turn and he sees his lead disappear. The river falls 7 and Watkinson doubles up to approximately $560,000.

Clash of the Titans

The two chip leaders just squared off and for a minute it looked like we might have an all-in moment. Gavin Griffin fired out $100,000 under the gun and David Tran re-raised to $475,000 from the button. Griffin opted to re-raise to $1.5 million and Tran went into the tank.

Eventually Tran lays it down and Griffin rakes the $1 million pot. After doing so Griffin is our new chip leader.

It didn't take very long for the short-stacked Ervin Prifti to make his move. On just the fifth hand of the day David Tran raised to $120,000 and Prifti shoved all-in from the button. The players show their cards:

Prifti is behind and looking for some luck as we head to the board. The board comes J 7 6 9 5 and Prifti is eliminated in sixth. Despite making it no more than five hands into the final table he will receive $233,600.
